Brothers Below Zero

The theme in the book Brothers Below Zero is the relationship between two brothers. At the beginning of the book Tim was the one hidden in John Henrys shadow, because John henry was the talented one and the smart one. Even though Tim was older he was smaller than John Henry and weaker and has always been compared with John Henry so he felt unappreciated. Their aunt Winifred was a great artist and decided to teach Tim how to paint. Before he even new it he became a great artist and painted a picture which was held up on the living room wall. His parents were so proud of him while John Henry thought that the painting wasn't so much to be proud of. Sadly aunt Winifred had died so Tim was very sad and disappointed because he thought that she was the only person he could talk to about anything. Christmas was coming so Tim decided to paint a picture of his mom and dad and decided that that would be their christmas present from him, so he wrapped the present and put it under the tree. With such interest to see what Tim could have possibly bought for his parents for christmas John Henry went down stairs in the middle of the night and when he saw what Tim has painted he couldn't control his emotions of hearing how good and talented Tim was so he drew watts and a mustache on Tim's painting. In the morning when they found out, Tim had been sent to his room, being surprised to what have happened not knowing how those hurtful details were added to the painting he got dressed and jumped out of the window into the snow and went towards aunt Winifred's house. When his parents went up to check on him and saw that he wasn't their they went downstairs grabbed their jackets and went into the car leaving John Henry behind in case Tim would come back. Every cop in town was on the look out for Timmy but still his parents have  been driving with their car around looking for any signs of Tim. John Henry feeling guilty took his jacket and left a note for his parents that he has left to look for Tim. He followed his foot steps in the snow and found him in the woods. He hugged him and did his best to keep him warm because he was only in a couple of jumpers and he had no shoes. This is one of the examples of the relationship between two brothers this has happened on page (Seidler 102). Through out the story the theme is the relationship between two brothers.

At the beginning it was competitive and then when Tim had found his talent John Henry started to be jealous because suddenly Tim had found his talent and had been appreciated more, but at the end he forgot about all that and wanted to protect his brother.

Oh no, Spazes little sister has leukemia or just simple enough blood sickness. Spaz was with his friend that his little sister think is Spazes "love mate" when he get the new that his little sister bean got sick. Luckily the medication was found! Basically that's the biggest conflict except of the big shake in the book. Bean is healthy and every one is happy. Yey.....

My book report is about The Hunger Games written by Suzanne Collins. Its about katniss who needs to survive a death game. The book is an adventure  book about survival, love and death. Its an really good book that shows allot of action and feelings. The teme of the book is that every body is an part of the worlds environment and all the people are the same

The theme of Nation is that all people are equal and should be treated that way. I think this is the theme of the book because in the end the King wants to take over Nation but his daughter doesn't let him. She said that he couldn't have the island because it belonged to the people of Nation.

Here is the direct quote: ''He can't have this one!'' Daphne screamed. "He doesn't need it! He can't have it! He hasn't finished with Canada yet!" (Pratchett 328)

This week, I finished my book. It was a really cool story and I really liked it. I will recommend this book to anyone. Maybe there are different themes for this book but for me, the theme is that everybody should enjoy their lives and discover new things. Be brave. It makes me think of that because this story is about three kids trying to have freedom by escaping but there were a lot more things that they discovered." This is the story of what happened when we sailed away from Whitegates that Friday night."  


This also made me think about the theme of discovering new things and being brave;"We did meet Heaven Eyes on the Black Middens. We did dig the saint out of the mud. We did find Grampa's treasures and secrets. We did see Grampa return to the river. And we did bring Heaven Eyes home with us. She lives happily here among us." (Almond, pg.1)

What is the resolution in my story?

The big problem in my story, is that Hugo is trying to fix the automaton, but the mean storekeeper took it away from him when he was caught stealing things from his store. He fixed this problem by continuing on the automaton, even without the notebook, and he was able to get the key. He has always noticed the key around Isabelle's neck but he figured out that there was a whole shaped like a heart, on the back of the automaton and the key was shaped like a heart! He took the key and placed it in the back of the automaton and it sprung to life, unleashing all the secrets Hugo was looking for.
"The original key had been lost in the fire, and all the other keys he found around the station and in windup toys from the booth didn't fit. But when he saw the key around Isabelle's neck, he knew right away it would work. And now he had it." (Selznick 233)
