The author Carl Hiaasen lives in Florida with his family.  Carl graduated the University of Florida and at the age of 23 he joined The Miami Herald as a general assignment. Since 1985 Carl has been writing a regular column and since then is doing better then his bosses and is getting them mad and annoyed as well as south of Florida. Carl's columns still appear on some Sunday nights on  www.miamiherald.com.
