The Princess Bride - Lola

The Princess Bride

The book that I am reading is called "The Princess Bride" and is written by William Goldman.

The main conflict of my novel is that Westley and Buttercup are separated. But, just like in any novel, the protagonists have many obstacles in between their goal. 1 obstacle that they encounter is Prince Humperdinck. Prince Humperdinck forces Buttercup to marry him, while Westley was away at sea, or else Buttercup should die (BTW, Buttercup thought Westley was dead, killed by the Dread Pirate Roberts). When Westley came back from sea, he was on the search for Inigo, Fezzik and Vizzini because they had kidnapped Buttercup. This is another obstacle. Westley disguised himself and people called him the "Man in Black". Westley had to do a sword fight with the best swordsman in the world, had to beat a giant and outsmart a genius. He did all of these. When Westley and Buttercup were together again, Buttercup did not know it was Westley. Therefore, she pushed him down into a cave. When she realized it was him, she jumped after him. They now had more conflicts, before being able to be free together, They had the Fire Swamp, Snow Sand and the R.O.U.S's (rodents of unusual size). They got past all of this but at the end of the cave, out in freedom, Prince Humperdinck was waiting for them. He took Buttercup back to the castle and Westley to the Zoo of Death. Buttercup was miserable and one day she called Prince Humperdinck a coward, an idiot, etc. and he killed Westley. But, Inigo and Fezzik (they survived while Vizzini died), took him to Magic Max who revived him. Then they had to find Buttercup (Westley had only little of life left) and Inigo had to kill the man who killed his father. The final obstacle they had were the guards, They had to, somehow, beat 100 guards to get into the castle. They outsmarted them. And everybody lived happily every after (or so I thought...).

In conclusion this book is a Man v.s. Man conflict.
