Percy Jackson : (and) The Lightning Thief

The Lightning Thief
80/375 pages
Rick Riordan
Review by Shelly Ness

The protagonist is Perseus "Percy" Jackson, (Obviously, the name of the book is Percy Jackson...) he is 12 years old and he is a troubled kid. He has dyslexia and his grades at school are very low. The author does not describe his look. He sounds like a very nice guy, he is caring and nice to his best friend, Grover (which is a satyr). Percy is very curious, and wants to find out all the details about who is his dad and what happened to his mom and things like that. He gets mad a lot when people talk about his mother, someone he loves or just if someone is trying to get him mad. Although, it seems to me that he is very loving because he cares a lot about his mother and he almost died to save her, he wanted her to be with him because she makes him happy.

The Antagonist is all the scary creatures who want to kill him. For example Mrs. Dodds and the Minotaur
who made his mother disappear and things like that. I haven't read that far into the book so don't know about the bad guys so much. So, "things", people or animals are trying to kill him...

It is kind of Man vs. Man, Percy is the man and the creatures and killers are the other Mans. I haven't read a lot of the book, so this is what I know so far.

Title: The Throne of Fire

Author: Rick Riordan

446/446 pages
(Protagonists)
The 2 main characters of this story are Sadie and Carter Kane. Sadie (who I shall describe first) looks like her mother, who died after summoning the cat goddess Bast then using all her power to close up the gateway and stopping Aphopis, with blonde hair with streaks of red or purple or blue, blue eyes, and wears combat boots. She is stubborn and proud but sincere and a great spell caster. Now, on to Carter, he’s an average guy with ta skin, curly brown hair, and brown eyes. He is also stubborn and sincere as well as a great leader and combat person.
(Antagonist)
The antagonist of this book is Apophis and chaos itself. Aphopis is a scaly slithering giant snake. He is an evil soul trying to devour the sun and destroy human kind. To describe him any farther would be impossible and see him in real life would be life and death.

The Son Of Neptune
The book I am reading is Percy Jackson The Son Of Neptune written by Rick Riodan. I read 62 pages this week. I am reading this book (Percy Jackson The Son Of Neptune). The setting of this book is mostly in Percy Jackson's camp but they also go to other places. It doesn't say the time of where they are but I think it is mostly in noon. A quote that tells me where the setting is is "They arrived at camp"

Who is the protagonist and antagonist in your novel?

The protagonist is Nad Land.
The antagonist is Captain Nemo.

Describe the characters:
Nad Land: A Canadian traveling on the Abraham Lincoln. He is revered as the king of harpooners. He is forty years old, large, quiet, and angry when contradicted.

Captain Nemo: The commander of the Nautilus. He is a mysterious man. He is often moved to tears, yet easily angered. He is a brilliant man who was formerly an engineer. He designed the Nautilus himself. His nationality remains unknown to the narrator.

Hello it is Bernardo here again!!!!
For the book I am reading I have read 50/165 pages.
the antagonists in this book is the great Empire. The protagonist is Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Obi-Wan is smart, fast, has good reflexes.  He is a risk-taker, that is because he is going deep in to the Empire to save a friend.
The Empire are nasty, violent.  They are also bad at doing everything.

A Long Walk to Water

The book I have read for my book report is entitled A Long Walk to Water written by Linda Sue Park.  I have read all 120 pages of it.

The protagonist of this story is Salva Dut. His physical traits are a normal eleven year old boy, with black skin, brown eyes, and very energetic.  His personality traits are being honorable because he saved many of the survivors of the shooting attack in Ethiopia by leading them to refugee camps.  He is also very intelligent because he knew how to survive in the wild and knew the language of the Dinka.  Finally, he is planful because he made a plan that would gather up all the resources that he would need with the survivors.

The antagonist is the Ethiopian government because they sent out troops to kill the people in the refugee camp Salva was staying at.  They do not have physical traits or at least they weren't described in the story.  Their personality traits are cruelty because they killed many of the refugees just because they didn't wan't bother about taking care of them.  Also, they are violent because they killed the refugees just because they did not want to take care of them any more.  Finally, they are unfair because they killed innocent people just because they didn't wan't to provide them with resources.

This is a picture of  Ethiopia.

Thanks for reading and I hope I persuaded you to read the book!

I am reading the first book of the edge chronicles. There are eight books. It is about a a boy that is a wood troll. His name is Twig. He is different then the rest of the wood trolls. The story takes place on the Edge. In the city of Under town. It is the place where the Twig is from. I cant really tell the time when it is happening but i think it happens in the past. A Long Walk to Water

I have read a book entitled A Long Walk To Water written by Linda Sue Park.  The book is based on a true story  and is written in an emotional way.  I have read all 120 pages of the book in sadness of what was occurring in the section I was reading.  The main character of this adventurous book is Salva Dut.  In the beginning of the book he is eleven years old and has to leave his family behind because of the war.  It doesn't really say how old Salva is in the end of the book but I think he is thirty-three. The story has no main setting.  The book does not really concentrate on where it is happening except a few times.  The settings were Southern Sudan (the time was before Sudan broke up into South Sudan and Sudan); Ethiopia; Kenya; and Rochester, New York.  I will give an example of all of these settings below.

  1. Southern Sudan                        Southern Sudan, 1985                                                                      Salva sat crossed legged on the bench.  He kept his head turned toward the front, hands folded, back perfectly straight.
  2. Ethiopia:                                   Itang Refugee Camp, Ethiopia, 1985                                                  "Mother! Mother, Please!"  Salva opened his mouth to call out again.
  3. Kenya:                                     Ifo Refugee Camp, Kenya, 1992-96                                                     Salva was now twenty-two years old. For the past five years he has been living in refugee camps in northern Kenya: first at the Kakuma camp, then at Ifo.
  4. Rochester, New York:             Rochester, New York, 1996-2003                                                        Salva had been in Rochester for over a month and still had not seen a single dirt road.

Salva Dut with a water pump which he built in Southern Sudan.
I hope you enjoyed reading my blog post and decide to read the book yourself.

Hello everyone,
The book that I'm reading is called 'The Haunted', by Niki Valentine.

The story takes place in Scottish highlands. The main character of the book are Martin and Sue. One day, they decided to escape from their luxury hotel and live an average and normal life, away from all the rich people and all the complicated things in life. But suddenly, on their way, the storm strikes! They were walking along the woods and decided to hide there until the storm stops. The storm lasted for a very long time. When the storm stopped, it was already dark. They were stuck in the woods and they didn't feel very safe. But after a while, Sue starts to sense they're not alone...or are they? You will find out soon...

Time: The present day
Place: Scottish highlands, Deep dark wood

The story is very good, it's interesting and you can really imagine everything written in the book!

Here is the quote:
Never separate from your friends when you're alone in the dark woods, or any other big place...without anybody else, or is there anybody?
Hello and welcome back to one of my most recent blog posts 6th Graders!

In this one I will discuss my new book report for my third and last book report of the year. The title of my newly chosen book: Stuck On Earth by the author of many other books; David Klass. You know him right, yeah you do. Out of this book I have read 24/227 ages but on Sunday i'll spend most o' my time reading the rest.  Anyway, the setting of my obvious, awesome novel is well, on Earth in a fourteen year old's house in the United States Of America and his brain got taken over by aliens recently when they came to earth to see if the human race is disciplined enough not to be annihilated...  I am telling you too much about this particular bundle of papers. Oh yeah, the aliens are invincible, pretty cool!
Anyway, I am not so sure at what time the scene is played into action but I do know it is somewhere 2000-1/26/2014 7:35 P.M. since the book includes some of the most recent technologies.

Just an extra quote from Stuck On Earth that proves the setting to be where it actually is.

"Earth's lone moon is in the sky above us"
                                                                                                                                   -Ketchvar III (alien)
Thank you for reading my blog post!

The Golden Compass

The Golden Compass

Philip Pullman

I am reading The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman, for my quarter 3 book report. Out of the total 399th pages, I have read up to the 40th. Lyra and her daemon Pantalaimon or Pan for short who live at Oxford, Jordan College, where they sneak into the Master's retiring room, where they have never been  before and are not supposed to go because it is no girls allowed. But Lyra wants to see it, so they proceed an overhear that Lord Asriel would be making a brief visit soon. When Lord Asriel arrives Lyra saves his life by not allowing him to drink from the wine left on the table, by the Master  because it was poisoned. Then he, Lord Asriel tells scholars and Master about the Northern Lights and this thing called the dust, while the Master and librarian discuss how he could have known about the poisoned wineFrom what I currently know this novel takes place in the present. The setting of this novel is Oxford, a university made up of many colleges such as, Jordan College. An example from the novel to prove the setting correct is; "Jordan College was the grandest and richest of all the colleges in Oxford. It was probably the largest, too though no one knew for certain.". This quote is on the 33page of the novel, in the first paragraph.

Hey sixth graders,

I am reading a warrior cat book called Firestars quest. It is a very exiting book with lot's of adventure. It is by Erin Hunter. I am on page 130 out of 500, but I will read it a lot now to get further into the book. For now, the setting of the book is in a forest. It also takes place in the ThunderClan camp. But I know the setting will change later to mountains or rocks. The forest has many tall tree's that are growing rapidly because it is green leaf (in warrior cat language, green leaf is summer. So everything is green and in bloom. Leaf bare is the Winter). The forest floor is covered in tall green grass and thick tangled bracken, with some thorns bushes here and there. In the middle of the forest is a clear hollow with a wall of bracken weaved together to make a big wall. There is a small hole in the wall of bracken for the cat's of ThunderClan can get through. The hollow is where they make their camp. There is a rock with a small, lighted, cave inside. This is wear herbs are stashed in case a cat get's injured or sick. Their is another, bigger, lighted rock, which the leader sleeps in. The other part's of the camp are divided into three sections. There is moss covering the ground so the cat's can have a nice, and comfy, place to sleep. Each section is also guarded by bracken on ether side. To stop intruders that are not from the same clan. The elders sleep in one section, the apprentices sleep in another, and the warriors sleep in the least guarded section because they are the toughest (besides the leader), and protect all the members of their clan.

Below is a quote from the book about the forest:

He had been a leader of ThunderClan for three seasons, and he felt as if he knew every tree, every bramble bush, every tiny path left by mice and voles throughout is territory.
Page 8.

I hope that gives you a good insight on the forest and the ThunderClan camp!

Did you know:
Erin Hunter is not one person. There are actually three or four people working on the warrior books, but they made up one name for all of them to make it easier. If you ask me Erin Hunter is a pretty good choice!

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief

Hello all, the book I read for this book report is 'Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief' by Rick Riordan. I read 375 pages out of 375. This book is based on Greek Mythology, so there are the Olympians, various monsters in Greek Myths, and other mythological creatures, etc.
There isn't an exact/specific setting of the book, because the characters in this story move around the U.S., so I think I can say that the setting is the U.S. The first setting of the book was Yancy Academy, a private boarding school for troubled kids, and the second was Camp Half-Blood, a camp for demigods, who are people who are half god and half human. Then the setting changes from different states of the U.S.
The time (of the setting) is not specifically known, because it doesn't say which year this happened in the book. But it said that this was during the summer in June. I think it is at least after the year 2000, because a lot of things that exist now (modern things) was in the book.
"They had this huge 3-D sim game where you build your own city, and you could actually see the holographic buildings rise on the display board." Page 261.
I can't say what the weather was exactly, because it kept on changing, and the weather in the book wasn't very sunny even though it was summer. The cause of this was the gods, because they were arguing and fighting because Zeus's master bolt was stolen, and they all accused Percy Jackson, the main character, of stealing it. That angered Poseidon, Percy's dad, and the god of the sea, so the gods caused natural disasters like storms and earthquakes.
"Hades yelled with such rage, the entire fortress shook and I knew it was not going to be a peaceful night in L.A." Page 318.
"In the distance, Los Angeles was on fire, plumes of smoke rising from neighborhoods all over the city. There had been an earthquake, all right, and it was Hades's fault." Page 319.

Camp Confidential #17: Hide and Shriek

I just finished a book called Hide and Shriek. It is an adventure scary story.

The scenes are at camp, in the cabin, the camp site, and in the mist.

The book is at Pennsylvania, Camp Lakeview.

Quick summary: At the beginning of the book, a girly-girl called Tori tells a scary story about a fog that came in at Camp Lakeview a few years ago. A criminal just got out of jail at the time, and his name was Cropsy. The camp was forced to evacuate and 2 boys ran into the forest. They heard someone calling their names and  ran towards the voice. They realized it wasn't anyone they knew, but it was Cropsy, the mass murderer. He had a knife in one hand, and tried to stab them both. They took the knife and ran into a boat and rowed. Cropsy ran after the and grabbed onto the boat. They cut off his hand and Cropsy leaped in and sliced their heads off. The rumor is that every few years he returns and kills campers in the very same fog.

When the the girls and their CIT (counselor in training) and Counselor go camping and the mist comes up, the girls all go missing 1 by 1 and they have to go and look for each other. They find out Cropsy is just a man who hates teenagers invading his ex-fun-house and scares them away. They make peace with him, find each other, and go back to their beloved Camp Lakeview.

"I guess it's so remote here in rural Pennsylvania that they don't have a lot of can-you-hear-me-now guys making sure our phones work." - Natalie.
This tells me that the setting in Pennsylvania.
Hello, I am reading a book called the desperate mission.
The author of this book is called Jude Watson.  I have read 30 pages out of 165.  This is a star wars book.  The setting takes place on a planet called Tatooine.  If you have seen the movies than you will understand that this book sets between episode 3 and between episode 4.  The quote for proof is the following:  "Obi-Wan Kenobi ducked his head as he exited his small dwelling on Tatooine.

Swallows and Amazons

Swallows and Amazons - Setting

Hello everyone! This is the first post of this quarters/years book report. So EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (well....)
For this book project, I read the book Swallows and Amazons by Arthur Ransome. I have read all 416 pages of the book (I finished it two days ago!) I enjoyed it very much and I recommend you read it if you like adventure stories, and stories by Enid Blyton books, such as the Famous Five.

Swallows and Amazons was written in 1930, and was set in the August of 1929.  This is only mentioned a few times in the book -
".... Signed and sealed at this place of Wild Cat Island in the month of August 1929." (pg. 123) - but you can tell - the children have a lot of freedom, and they speak a lot differently, with more terms that they don't use nowadays. They would say 'Hullo' more often than Hello in a lot of cases.

In the quote above, Wild Cat Island is mentioned. Wild Cat island is the main setting in the book. It is where the main characters, John, Titty, Susan and Roger go and spend the beginning few weeks of their summer holidays, on their own. It is an island on which no-one (or so they think) lives.

"The island was not in the middle of the lake, but much nearer to the eastern shore." (pg. 31)

"The sides of the island were steep and rocky. That little bay seemed to be the only place where it would be possible to land a boat.  There were rocky cliffs, like the Peak in Darien, only much smaller, with heather on them and little struggling trees. " (pg. 35)

This is where the plot happens and where all of the action happens and is very important.

The book mostly revolves around this setting, and all of the others weren't described in enough detail to actually reference here. That is it, I believe!

Heroes of Olympus, The lost Hero

HI guys,
For my book project I have read the Heroes of Olympus, The lost Hero by Rick Riordan, here is the picture of the book:
I am reading the last series of Percy Jackson, these series are not only focused on Percy Jackson and Annabeth they are also focused on Piper ( child of Aphrodite), Jason ( son of Jupiter/Zeus) and Leo ( son of Hephaestus).

So the book is set all around in America " All right cupcakes; Coach hedge announced. " you are about to see the Grand Canyon." ( page 9) Also they go to long island to were the demigod camp is. Only half bloods can enter, it is protected by this imaginary wall so that humans and monsters can not come in. " A safe place, Annabeth said,  the only safe place for kids like us. Camp Half-Blood." ( Page 31) Also they go to other places in America.  The book is set in present day, it is written so that it is happening all around us but we can't see it. It is because there is supposedly a mist around us preventing us to see clearly. We could see the half bloods but we can't see the monsters. So lets see we might see a big cat but  actually it might be a deadly monster, but there are some  exceptions  because they are some rare cases that a human is born with the gift of seeing clearly.

Hatchet

Hatchet by Gary Paulsen
Hi guys! Today I will write about the book that I read. The book is called Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. The book has 195 pages and I read 50 pages so far.  The main character is Brian Robeson. Here is quote: "My name is Brian Robeson and I am thirteen years old..." (Brian- page 46).  In the first chapters the setting is in a plane. Quote: "Brian Robeson stared out the window of the small plane..... It was a small plane, a Cessna 406..."(author- page 1). Something happens and the pilot suffers an heart-attack and they crush. Initially he didn't know where he was but he start thinking. Quote: "With his mind opened and thoughts happening it all tried to come out in it with a rush, all of what had occurred and he could not take it. The whole thing turned into a confused jumbled that made no sense. So he fought it down and tried to take one thing at the time. He had been flying north to visit his father for a couple of months, in the summer, and the pilot had a heart attack and had died, and the plane had crashed somewhere in the Canadian north woods but he didn't know far they had flown or in what direction or where he was..." (author- page 46).
It's am awesome book that I love to read. Hope you enjoyed
my blog! :D
P.S. Can you please comment on it? Thanks in advance :D

THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING!

Author: J.R.R TOLKIEN

Number of pages: 50/423

Hello blog readers! My new book project book, is often to be refered as one of the clasics in the fiction world! Yes, I am talking about the first book in the amazing, epic and awesome LOTR (Lord of The Rings) trilogy! Well, so far, I can say that the book is not really intriguing..... It is all happening in the peaceful shire in middle earth.... Well, the main character, is Frodo Baggins. He is at his uncles house, and his uncle is good old Bilbo Baggins. The only thing that would be beautiful, if books had motion-pictures in them would be the fireworks at Bilbo's 111th birthday! In the mean while Gandalf arrives, and nothing really special happens.... One of the funny scenes in the book, is when boored Bilbo, takes the one ring, which provides the user and holder of the ring invisibility..... So Bilbo just sneaks out of the party to his comfortable Hobbit home.... So far, I would grade the book a 7/10. I gave this since the book is very artistic in terms of word choice, and the imagination of J.R.R Tolkien, is really incredible. On the other hand, nothing really exciting happens, except Gandalfs arrival.

The setting of the book so far, is peaceful Hobbitton, located in the Shire. Of course, this is all happening in fictional Middle-Earth, located in Arda. Now, the conflict of the story, is Saurons sudden rise to power, along with evil Saruman. Sauron, is the main protagonist in the story, who is wanting to rule middle earth.... In the second age, around 1500 years ago ( The time when this book is happening is around TA 3000), Sauron was killed by king Isildur, the leaderof the "Last alliance of Men and Elves".Isildur takes the one ring, but one day, he is ambushed by a groupof orcs, and the ring falls into a small pond. Gollum, then finds it. Then, during the Hobbit, Bilbo wins the One Ring with his riddles, and at the end of the Hobbit, he brings it back to Bag End.
Here is a quote proving that the setting is in Bag End, Hobbitton, The Shire:
"When Mr. Bilbo Baggins of Bag End announced that he would shortly be celebrating is "eleventy-first" birthday with a party of special magnificence, there was much talk and excitement in Hobbitton."

Tune in later for some more posts!

Russian Roulette

Author: Anthony Horowitz

Russian Roulette
First of all, the book I am reading is Russian Roulette by Anthony Horowitz. This book explains about a first class assassin(the best) growing up and how he became an assassin. This man's name is Yassen Gregorovich. His real name is Yasha but it is surprising how it became Yassen. A small explanation of the title, Russian Roulette is a russian life or death game. You take a gun that you can see the barrel and the usual one is you put one bullet in, you spin the barrel and cock it then put to your head and shoot it into your head if it turns out that the bullet space was empty you spin it again and hand it to your partner and keep on going until someone dies.

This book take's place in many places but starts off in a small town that is now non-existent called Estrov. When it describes what happened to the town just know that it is true fact because Anthony interviewed many people in Russia that have had friends that had lived there. The place that he spends most of his life in is Moskow until one fateful night that changes everything. I think that this book takes place in the present. Here is a quote that tells about the setting, "Then there were the churches and their golden domes, ten times the size of poor St. Nicholas." and, "Kazansky Station. Moscow." Both sentences are from page 98 paragraph 1 and 2. I read 405 out of 405 pages.

title: Artemis Fowl

author: Eoin Colfer

28/275

Artemis is a 12 years old "mafia" boy who is special as he has a body guard and lives in a big villa.

The setting is Ho Cin Minh City the time is in the summer. The book starts by Artemis coming into town and to a bar where he is to meet Mr. Nguyen. Mr. Nguyen has replied to his advertisement in the newspaper where Artemis is looking for the fairy with grren hand. Mr. Nguyen has to lead Artemis and his bodyguard to that fairy/healer who as it seems so has a special BOOK. The book is probably very valuable and it should be the agenda according to Artemis.

""Ho Chin Minh City in the summer. Swelternig by anyones standards." (page 3)

Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief

The Lightning Thief
57/375 pages
Rick Riordan
Review by Shelly Ness

I am reading a book called "The Lightning Thief" though I haven't realized why it is called that, since it has nothing to do with lightning (yet). It is from the Percy Jackson series and it is written by Rick Riordan. The book is about a twelve year old boy who has a strange life; his dad got lost in the sea before he was born. His mom tries to send him to the farthest school she can find. His sweet mother is married to some jerk named Gabe (but Percy calls him Smelly Gabe because he smells like rotten beer.). He has dyslexia and is kicked out of school for the 6th time in 6 years (he got an F+). Then he sees weird things and turns out his best friend, Grover is a satyr (Half-Goat, Half-Man). But worse, his mother dissapears with gold mist when a big, muscly creature tried to choke and kill her and Percy.

The setting takes place in a museum. The class goes to a field trip and Mrs. Dodds (who Grover and Mr. Brunner who was the Latin teacher, say she doesn't exist because if he doesn't believe she is real then he will be safe.) attacks Percy.

"... heading to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to look at ancient Greek and Roman stuff." (Page 2)
" But Mr. Brunner, our Latin teacher, was leading this trip, so i had hopes." (Page 2)

The other setting is Smelly Gabe's apartment.

"I walked into our little apartment, hoping my mom would be home from work. Instead, Smelly Gabe was in the living room, playing poker with his buddies." (Page 30,31)

Another setting is in the forest when Grover, Percy and his mother are running away from the monster.

They are also in a shop, in the school and in a nice "cabin" in Montauk, Long Island.

" We'd been going there since I was a baby. My mom had been going even longer. She never exactly said, but I knew why the beach was special to her. It was the place where she'd met my dad.  As we got closer to Montauk, she seemed to grow younger, years of worry and work disappearing from her face..." (Page 37).

This story takes place now days, I'll say since there is a city and a school and transportation but it's very mythological because it has weird animal - humans.

I really like this book because Percy is telling the story and you know how scared he is or what he is feeling.

Mark of Athena | By Rick Riordan | Setting

The book I'm reading for my book report is called the Mark of Athena, it is from the The Heroes Of Olympus series. Which is by Rick Riordan, this is the second series of the books; the first is the Percy Jackson series. The setting of this book is in Camp Jupiter, which is in San Francisco, California. This is a camp for demigods of Roman gods. There is another camp for demigods of the Greek gods. That one is called Camp Half-Blood, but in this book the characters don't go there. When they go to Camp Jupiter, they are trying to get to know the Romans and make peace with them, since they had a bloody past and they needed each other if they were going to defeat Gaea, the goddess of the Earth. That doesn't go so well and someone on the Argo II (a warship built for the battle with Gaea and the giants) becomes possessed and they fire at the romans. That is at the start of their quest.  Near Camp Jupiter there is a place called New Rome and that is were roman demigods can live their lives normally in peace with Camp Jupiter protecting them. So they flee and head to Rome, which is were the hard part of their quest starts. They spend the rest of the time in Rome.

A quote to prove that the demigods visited Camp Jupiter and New Rome is:
“Annabeth,” he said hesitantly, “in New Rome, demigods can live their whole lives in peace.”
Her expression turned guarded. “Reyna explained it to me. But, Percy, you belong at Camp Half-Blood. That other life—”
“I know,” Percy said. “But while I was there, I saw so many demigods living without fear: kids going to college, couples getting married and raising families. There’s nothing like that at Camp Half-Blood. I kept thinking about you and me…and maybe someday when this war with the giants is over…”
It was hard to tell in the golden light, but he thought Annabeth was blushing. “Oh,” she said…
“I’m sorry,” he said. “I just…I had to think of that to keep going. To give me hope. Forget I mentioned—”
“No!” she said. “Gods, Percy, that’s so sweet.”

A quote to prove that the characters were travelling to Rome is:
“We still should have enough time to reach Rome.”
Hazel scowled. “When you say should have enough…”
Leo shrugged. “How do you feel about barely enough?”
Hazel put her face in her hands for a count of three. “Sounds about typical for us.”

A quote to prove the character were in Rome:
“They would find this House of Hades. They'd take the Doors of Death. And by the gods, if Leo had to design a grabber arm long enough to snatch Percy and Annabeth out of Tartarus, then that's what he would do.

Nemesis wanted him to wreak vengeance on Gaea? Leo would be happy to oblige. He was going to make Gaea sorry she had ever messed with Leo Valdez.

"Yeah." He took one last look at the cityscape of Rome, turning bloodred in the sunset. "Festus, raise the sails. We've got some friends to save.”
