Out of my Mind: By Sharon M. Draper- Ronia

Now, I am reading a book called "Out of my mind." The author of this book is a woman named Sharon M. Draper. This book won the "Coretta Scott King" award and is a New York times bestseller. This book is about a girl named Melody who is ten and two-thirds years old. She is an intelligent girl, understands everything, is very smart, but can't show it to anybody. That is so because she is in a state in which she cannot walk, talk, or express herself in any way. In the first few chapters, Melody talks about (thinks about) her current life and how she manages to live in the state she is in. She talks about her feelings and family experiences. This is what the first few chapters are about. From the part which I read, I found two unknown words. The first one is sedative. Sedative is a pill or tranquilizer used to reduce irritability or excitement. Here is an example sentence: "Due to the lots of irritability and excitement, the poor girl was instructed to take a sedative." The second one is desperation. Desperation is the state of despair. Here is an example sentence: "The woman's heart filled with desperation as she watched the fire cackle. Overall, I really enjoy this book because it has so many details, that it make the reader feel like in the situation. I am really enjoying this book and I recommend it to everybody.

Dork Diaries- Tales from a not so happily ever after

                                                By:Rachel Renee Russel

The book I was reading is Dork Diaries Tales from a not so happily ever after. This book is in the dork diaries series. These books are a diary of a girl called Nikki. Every day she goes through different adventures at school or at home.  This is the eight book from the series "Dork Diaries" some other books you can find are "Holiday heart break","Skating Sensation ",and more. I like this book because its really well detailed and i like every single thing that happened  in it .

This story started when one day she overslept  to school so she had to get up take a shower, quickly get dressed, eat breakfast and get ready to go to school. This happens because her sister Briana kept on walking in her room to take her alarm clock to wake up very early so she could make her peanut butter jelly and pickle sandwich in the morning.  Once she came to school she had to go to the gym for PE class. There is a mean girl named Mackenzie in this book she is the antagonist. Nikki is the protagonist. Nikki bumped her head in gym class, and wondered of in a fairy tale world where here best friends Cloe and  Zoey ,her crush Brandon, her sister Brayanna and Mackenzie were all  in her dream. It was all  like a fairy tale she went through a bunch of adventures while being in her fairy tale.

The Five Kingdoms - Sky Raiders --Madison!

On Tuesday I finished Sky Raiders, the first book in the Five Kingdoms series. The series is by Brandon Mull, a New York Times best selling author.
The story starts in Mesa, Arizona. The character on the front cover, Cole, is the protagonist. Basically, he and his friends go to a Halloween haunted house. What they got, though, was completely unexpected. A slaver from another dimension captured all of the kids! Cole managed to get away by diving behind a statue. He traveled to the Outskirts, a place that lies between wakefulness and dreaming, reality and imagination, and life and death. Soon after, he gets caught by the slavers and sold to the Sky Raiders. The Sky Raiders invade sky castles, which often contain hidden treasure. Cole's last mission is where he meets a seeming named Lyrus. Seemings are a type of shaping that is only found in Sambria, one of the five kingdoms in the Outskirts. They seem real, they can even kill you, but are not real. Anyway, Cole convinces Lyrus that he is not real, and Lyrus promises to help Cole continue his journey through the castle. He ends up winning a bow that needs no arrows, a picture that tells the next day's weather, and some jewels. A peculiar girl named Mira is also a Sky Raider. She has a secret that could endanger her and Cole's lives. Mira is... I'M NOT TELLING YOU! Read the book to find it out, because I'm going to feel guilty if I tell you and you end up reading the book.
Two unfamiliar words in this book were rungs and velocity. A Rung means a crosspiece, usually rounded, forming the steps of a ladder. Sentence:
Leaning away from the rungs, Cole dropped into the darkness.
Velocity means quickness of motion or operation. Original Sentence:  At this velocity, simply clipping the wall could cause a major injury.

To propagate is to spread and promote an idea or theory widely. "There is enough mathematical illiteracy in this country and we don’t need the world’s highest I.Q propagating more."

To irate is to feel or characterize by great anger. "How many irate mathematicians are needed to get you to change your mind?"

Molly Moon's Incredible Book Of Hypnotism - Jelena

File:Molly moon hypnotism.jpg

I started to read a book called Molly Moon's Incredible book of Hypnotism. The author of this book is Georgia Byng. This book is the first of its series along with Molly Moon and the monster music, Molly Moon stops the world, etc. Molly moon is a ten year old girl who lives in an orphanage with her best friend Rocky Scarlet and other children which are not so nice to her. She has a hard time in the orphanage as Hazel and other kids teas her and make fun and she is constantly harassed by ms. Adderstone, the owner of the orphanage. Her life can be changed when she finds out that she can use hypnotizing tricks on other people, that she learned from 'the incredible book of hypnotism' she steals from the library. With hypnotizing skills she planned to get back her best friend Rocky which was adopted by a family in New York, and her adventures began.
Example of a new word would be -compartment- which means a separate section or part of something. In the book this word was used as a separate part of a library.

Middle School the Worst Years of My Life

I am reading Middle School The Worst Years of My Life by James Patterson and Chris Tebbetts. This book has more series and this is one of them, there are "Middle School Get Me Out of Here", Middle School My Brother Is Big Fat Liar" and " Middle School How I Survived Bullies Broccoli Snake Hill", " Middle School Save Rafe", and " Middle School Just My Rotten Luck". It is my favorite book so far and I cannot stop reading it, it is too interesting and funny. This author writes more for children above age 8-18. The gender of my book is a comedy novel, and funny.

The book is about a boy named Rafe Khatchadorain, he is 11 years old and in 6th Hills Village. Rafe is a normal school boy to start of but then builds up to wanting to want to brake all the school rolls by the end of the year. He is not to tall and not to short just somewhere in between. Leo, Rafe's friend, he is a silent boy, and says his words through drawing pictures, that is why Rafe calls him Leonardo the Silent. So far there was an assembly and got a notebook with all the school rules, he has already broken one role which is to not pull the fire alarm just for fun.

지구의 미스터리-Korean book

Image result for 지구의미스터리
The title of this book is called 지구의 미스터리. (It's in Korean).(if I translate it, then it would be earth's mysteries)
The author of this book is called 좌용주. In this book, there are a lot of stories about mysteries of earth. I will just talk about my favorite story of all.
A part/story that I will be talking about is going to be about an Aliens. Obviously, it's about aliens and UFOs. In Washington, in July 19th, 1952, 11:40 pm, Washington international airport's control power radar found 7 blinking dots. 2 of them were 1 million 1,200 km fast. America is being attacked! That's what the president thought. So he sent the jet engine-combat planes to chase the things that were attacking America. But when the planes started to chase them, they were gone. But when they went back to the base, they appeared again. The president couldn't hold anymore. He said to crash all the UFOs in America. But UFOs are still showing up in America. Many times, American armies tried to fight against UFOs but they failed all the times.
I knew all the words in the story. I can't find the hard ones.

Gilda Joyce The Ghost Sonata-kiki

Over the break I read another book by Jennifer Allison called the Ghost Sonata. Wendy Choy, Gilda's best friend, gets to go to Oxford, England for a piano competition. When Gilda finds this out, she embarks on the trip with Wendy as an official page turner. But when Gilda thinks that there are ghosts haunting Oxford, she gets excited. It was another opportunity for her to show her psychic investigator skills. Mysterious Tarot cards are placed in the guests' bedrooms which gives Gilda even more reason to believe that there are haunting in Oxford.

种花的孩子 - Chinese Book

The author of this book is called 陈晓桃。
The book that I am reading is called "种花的孩子" (translated: Kids who plant flowers) and it is a Chinese book. This book has a lot of stories in it but I will be writing about one specific story that I really like and enjoyed while reading.
This story that I will be writing about is called "种花的孩子" same as the title because its the first story.  It is about a king that is looking for a very honest child to be his heir which means when the king dies the heir is going to be the new king. In China, it normally the son of the king becomes the new king but this story is different. The king tells his chancellor to give all the kids in the kingdom a seed. He said that who's flower is the best will be the future king. After couples of months, every child's flower was very beautiful except for one and only child's. It was just a pot of soil. The king finally said that the child that did not have the flower will be his heir. It was very weird but the king said that the seed that the king gave was fried so it could not be growing like all the flower the kids had except for one. That means that the kids that had all the beautiful flower were not from the seed but bought in a shop. They all lied but king was trying to the most honest child to be his heir. In this story, there weren't really hard words since it is just a short story.

Zona Zamfirova

Zona Zamfirova by Stevan Sremac

I like this book.
It's about a young woman, Zona, who falls in love with a poor man that her parents don't like. They want her to marry Manulać, who comes from a very rich family, just like Zona, because they think rich people have to marry rich people and poor people have to marry poor people.

Zona is the prettiest girl and one of the most rich girls in town. Mane, the guy she falls in love with, is the prettiest boy in town but is poor and adults don't like him. He falls in love with her too and his mother is not happy about it either. She thinks he has no chance with her so she makes a list of girls that he has to chose from.

Zona and Mane are sadder and sadder that they can't marry each other. Mane's aunt Doka talks to Zona's mom and aunts about it  but they end up in a fight because Zona's mother Tašana doesn't want to hear a word about her daughter marrying Mane. Now Zona's parents are even more mad at her but soon they find out that Manulać's parents don't want him to marry Zona. There was only one dialogue between Zona and Mane in the whole book and he was trying to apologize for what his aunt said to her parents. But Zona's aunt Taska told her how she is not allowed to marry him and made her believe that she is the best and prettiest of all her friends and that he's bad and doesn't deserve her.

Now Mane is mad at her. He plans a trick and pretends to steal Zona. He dresses his friend up like a girl and acts it out. At that time it was a big shame if a man kidnapped a girl. He only wanted to make her be embarrassed.  Many people see this and believe it but it's not true. The whole town starts talking only about that and it also appears in the newspaper. But when Zona's aunts take her for a walk everybody's confused.

The message of this book is how people segregate rich and poor but that love is much stronger than money. Even though her aunt Taska tried to convince her Mane bad for her, Zona was still in love with

This book was very hard in general because it has many words that are only from the south of Serbia. Many of the words I didn't understand but I picked two. I did understand more than a kid usually would because I've been in the south of Serbia many times. Izmećarka is a female servant. Daskalica means teacher.

Theodore Boone- Christoffer

Theodore Boone
By: John Grisham
The book that I am reading is called Theodore Boone by John Grisham. This book is the first in the series. The series has four other books that include "The Abduction", "The Accused", 'The Activist" and "The Fugitive." These books are all murder mysteries. Right now I am half way in the book and can't stop reading it. It is one of my most favorite books that I have read. I can't wait to finish the series. The author doesn't just right for young-adults he also write for adults.

The book is about a boy named Theodore Boone who is the protagonist. He has two parents named Ms. Boone and Mr. Boone. Both of his parents are lawyers. Each day Theodore Boone goes to school and then comes to his parents office. He always rushes homework to go to different trials that are ongoing. The main problem that is keeping the story ongoing is that the judge and others have accused Pete Duffy of murdering his own wife. Through the story people are debating about if Pete Duffy did murder is own wife or didn't. The question is just how will the book end, will Pete Duffy be accused of being guilty or will he not be accused of being guilty.

Two words that I found that I didn't know was prosecution and rowdy. Prosecution means the institution and conducting of legal proceedings against someone in respect of a criminal charge. Rowdy means noisy and disorderly. I found the word prosecution in the sentence that is written like this "This effort by the prosecution drew heavy fire from Mr. Clifford Nance, who had kept quite during early hours of the trial." The word rowdy was found in the sentence written like this "The room was noisy, even rowdy, as two dozen or so students of all ages plowed through their homework."

How to Steal a Fortune

By: Jude Watson

I am reading a book named How to Steal a Fortune. This book is very interesting and has a lot of details you would wish to read. It is by Jude Watson that made the best-selling novel the 39 Clues.

The book I am reading is mostly about how people can live with only stealing. The boy March had a father that fell of a building and died next to March telling him to find his sister Jules that he never new he had. His father was a famous jewels stealer around the whole world. His son was to (March). Marches dad wanted his son to be the best stealer in the world and had no shame because he was also a famous stealer.  He is left alone and has know body to be with until he finds his sister. Eventually he somehow manages to find his sister that he never new he had. After he finds his sister the are sent of to New York city in a group ( it is kind of like a orphanage). They find friends there. When there dads funeral had come a lady comes up and wishes her 3 diamonds back to her and is offering a reward to who finds it.

My words that i did not know are notations in the page number 44 and the paragraph 4. The sentence goes like this: He flipped through the deck. Six cards had notations on the backs, from the two of diamonds on up.
I found out this word means a system of graphic symbols for a specialized use.

Another word that i found is gaze. It is used in a sentence tha goes like this: But the gaze said death.
Gaze means to look intently and steadily.
