This week, we read 3 chapters from our book Caddie Woodlawn by Carol Ryrie Brink. In the last three chapters we have read, Caddie can't decide what to do with the silver dollar she got from her uncle, and Nero, the sheep dog, gets sent to Uncle Edmund (NO!!). Later on, school starts, and on the first school day, Caddie, Warren and Tom get into a fight with some troublesome boys at school. Then, the kids go skating, and Caddie falls into the pond they were skating on, almost drowns, and then catches a cold. While Caddie is sick, she finds the Circuit Rider's clock, and tries to fix it. Her dad and her fix the clock, and then Caddie becomes her dad's helper in fixing clocks.
