The Bully
Discussion Director-Edwin Nyirenda
Task:
The task in discussion director is to make or answer some questions that your group would like to discuss.
The questions have to be related to the topic and relevant.
This was my job but this time i was answering the already made questions.
Discussion director:
Question number 1:
How does the character tony changer throughout the short story?
Ans: Throughout the story Toney changes both physically and mentally. He changed physically because as it said in the passage he used to be a buff and a strong big guy but throughout time he got skinny and didn't look so masculine. He changed mentally because he used to be very, rude and dominant, he was high tempered and had no manners and no respect for people, but now he is calm and very respectful by showing how nice and well-mannered he is by speaking like a gentleman and not raising his voice as he he did in high school when he was bully. These answers were answered based on my perspective of the novel.
Question number 2:
How does this change affect Rodger?
Ans: From my point of view I believe this affects Rodger positively. This is because stayed positively and didn’t express negativity toward the Toney. He also didn’t behave rude he just minded his own business and moved on with life, but if hadn’t stayed positive and behaved negative he wouldn’t be the better person at all and he would ultimately become a bully too possibly going in the direction Toney did.
Question number 3:
What do you think Toney meant when he said, “I guess you’re thinking, “What goes around comes around”?
Ans: I think Toney mean that what you do and say to someone or something can change your whole life just as much as you did there’s but differently and you never how. Its it basically saying with every action(the action being Toney bullying Rodger) There is a reaction(That’s when Toney got badly hurt and lost his legs and putting him in defenseless and unprivileged stage in life).
Question number 4:
Why do you think the author wrote this story? What message did the author want to convey?
Ans: I think the author wrote this story to show how things that you did in the past can affect how you will have people thinking of you in the future. In the end Rodger became the better person just by minding his own business and forgetting about the past he focused.
