The Cay

Pages: 137
Author: Theodore Taylor

This week I have read 27 pages (2 chapters). Phillip was really excited about war in the beggining, his mother told him not to leave the house, but he did. The navy attacks, and many people die, and Phillip's thoughts on war change. His mother cannot stand the war anymore, and even though Phillip's father cannot leave, his mother plans on leaving the country and taking Phillip with her despite her husbands warnings. I could not find any quotes, the book is very straight forward, getting to the point and not slowing down too much in order to sound wise.

Girls Out Late

Girls Out Late
Jacqueline Wilson
213 pages

My book is about a girl called Ellie and her friends and family. In these 30 pages that I read Ellie's mother and brother disappear with a random biker. Ellie and her dad were waiting for them for really long and then turns out Ellie's mom actually got a job for knitting sweaters. Anna's (Ellie's mom) is going to get paid a large amount of money (500 pounds) but will she take the job?

How to train a puppy

Like some of you know I have a puppy. Two months old, about to ruin everything in my house. He is nothing more than a little busy machine but very cute. The only problem is that we need to train him. So my mom downloaded three books about how train your puppy. All three written by Marco Starink  All the books have 60 pages except the last one, that one has 71 pages. I read the books and there are some really useful links in these books. One of the rules is like if your puppy is doing something naughty don't punish but ignore him. The reason is because the dog listens better after you ignore him than giving him negative attention. But I got to say it is also fun to play with him and let him bite your sock.
Title: Elijah of Buxton

Author: Christopher Paul Curtis

Pages:341

Blog post #3

The book Elijah of Buxton is about a boy named Elijah who is the first child in the Settlement of Buxton in Canada who was born free of slavery. He is very fragile and scared of things like snakes. His mom does not like him being so fragile, so every time he acts it, she teaches him a lesson. Elijah has a best friend called Cooter. They go to the same school and have a teacher called Mr. Travis who tends to act crazy and is not popular among students.

A quote I would like to add: " How many times I got to tell you, a coward die a thousand deaths, a brave boy don't die but once?"
I chose this quote because it describes how fragile his mother thinks he is and how much she doesn't like that he is fragile.

Here is a little summary of the story I am reading for my book project. Annmarie and her friend Ellen live in Denmark were the Germans are staring to invade during the Holocaust. The story starts when Germans used to be on every corner of every street in Copenhagen, because of the Holocaust. but when the Germans start to get serious they want the whole Jewish population in Copenhagen to leave and go to a different place beside Copenhagen. Ellen Annmarie friend is Jewish so Ellen had to stay with Annmarie until this was all over but Ellen parents went somewhere else in Denmark so Ellen didn't have any contact with them. but one night when Ellen and Annmarie were asleep they could see through the cracks of the doors some light out in the hallway, they could here talking then they realized that soldiers were at the door. the soldiers said that they could here giggling so they wanted to go see what there children were doing. but the Annmarie got out of bed and said that Ellen have to take of her necklace of the Star of David because then the soldiers might take her away, but Ellen couldn't get it off. then Annmarie ripped it right off of here when the soldiers came into the room he ask the girls to step out into the hallway. the solider ask for there names Annmarie spoke first she said I am Annmarie Johnson but then Ellen could say her real name because they noticed a list of all the family in Copenhagen so then Ellen thought Annmarie older sister who is died a long time ago named Lise wasn't with them so Ellen spoke up i am Lise Johnson even though that wasn't her real name the soldiers bought it. so that is what has been happening so far in my book.

my favorite quote in this book is "All of Denmark is his guard  on page 20 chapter 1 it comes in when the father said was telling Annmarie a story and it wen like this there was boy one day and he was walking to the end of the street and the king of Denmark was going by and the solider ask the boy "Who is that man" and the boy replied "He is the king of Denmark  the solider ask were is his body guards and then the boy replied "All of Denmark is his body guard".
