The Hobbit

Title: "The Hobbit"
Author: J. R. R. Tolkien
Pages read: 351
Pages the book has: 351

Dear bloggers and readers,
I am reading a book called "The Hobbit", J. R. R. Tolkien. I finished the book a long time ago, so I started focusing on the actual book project.
There are many turning parts in this book, but the one I chose is the part were the men of Lake Town try and defeat the dragon, Smaug. The main characters are not included as much, because while the men of Lake Town were fighting Smaug, the hobbit and the dwarfs were waiting for the dragon to show up (they didn't know where Smaug was at the time). Smaug came to attack Lake Town, and in that attack many people died and were injured. The whole Lake Town was torn apart and drowned. Bard, the bowman form Lake Town, was the one who finally slayed the dragon. He achieved this by finding a weak spot on Smaug's body (since his body was covered in diamonds), and shot an arrow there. I will not tell you anymore since i already told you more than I should have. Read to find out what happened to Bilbo and the dwarfs after that. It is a great book and I hope this blog-post convinced you to read it.

Insurgent

The book I am reading this week is the second book of Divergent by Veronica Roth - INSURGENT.
I am on page 215/525. I just started yesterday. (Muahaha ^-^)
The main climax is when the Dauntless and the Erudite are fighting. The Erudite release some sort of simulation bomb and everyone who breathes, smells, or feels the smoke dies. Immediately. All except the Divergents. Divergents have a special power, to manipulate and change the simulations. Tris and Uriah, one of her friends, go aorund trying to find all the Divergent from Candor, Amity, and Abnegation. Tobias is I-don't-know-where when they do this. The war against the Erudite is becoming worse. The Abnegation are dead. The Amity and Candor are dead. Even Dauntless are dead. All that's left is the Erudite and the Divergent. How will this war end?

Climax in the Book Thief

Today I shall do the final blog post (sadface) about the Book Thief, written by Marcus Zusak.
This time it shall be about the most exciting bit, the high point... the climax!
I have finished the book (583 pages I believe!) I'm finally really getting on with my book project! I really love the book and I am rereading it!

So, back to the climax. In The Book Thief there are a lot of conflicts that could be viewed as climaxes. I looked at all of them and decided that this was the main climax, as it caused a lot of things and it was toward the end.
The climax happens when a Jewish Death March is going through Molching (where the plot takes place). A Jew death March is a march of Jewish prisoners from concentration camps. These are extremely long and difficult, and many people  are taken on long walks where quite a few of them would die.  Hans Hubermann and Liesel both sympathize for Jews (as they have Max, a Jew in hiding, living in their basement, who both of them love.) When the parade goes past, one of the older men starts to feel faint. Usually when one of the prisoners falls over, they are whipped and left to die. However when this man falls over, Hans rushes over to help him up. This is strictly against all Nazi rules. The Nazi's guarding the march run over and pick both the man and Hans up, and they are whipped severely. From then on, the Nazi's in Molching have their eyes on Hans.
Since the Hubermann's are scared that the Nazi's will discover Max, they send him away. Even though the basement is never searched, Hans is sent away to work in the War, picking up the bodies of dead citizens in the cities.

This is important because it separates the family, which is sad and dramatic, and also Max is sent away. He is then seen, a few months later in one of the Jew Death Marches from the camp in Dachau. This is really scary and causes a lot of pain for the family.

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

HI guys,
My book is called Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, I have read all 546 pages of it!!
Here is a picture of the film:
There are many events in the book, but I thought the part when Beth is dying was the most dramatic and sad part. I found this part very dramatic because Jo would sit next to her all night, wide awake, sobbing by her shoulder. It was like that for many weeks. At one point Beth fell in a deep sleep and they all thought she was dead, and right at that moment their mother came from her long trip and she just collapsed on the floor. Luckily she woke up the next day but not long after that she died.

Midnight for Charlie Bone

Review by Shelly Ness

Hello,
I finished reading the book Midnight for Charlie Bone! The main climax of the story was when Charlie saw a girl called Emilia Moon, she was sad, and  hypnotized, The Bloors' (family who owns the school, Bloor's) and The Moons' treat her terribly. Charlie, Uncle Paton and Ben Found out that a lady called Mrs. Indeglew, who owns a bookshop wants to find her niece, Emma Tolly. The father of Emma, Dr. Tolly had given her away to Bloors'. They gave Mr. Tolly a case, if Manfred hypnotizes her she could be woken up. Manfred did hypnotize her and now, they need to wake her up. It is really hard to know who she is, because the Moons (Adoption Parents) changed her name to Emilia Moon. In the end they found her, and now they are waking her up. Mrs. Indeglew wants to take care of Emma, and she is begging to find Emma. She thanks Charlie and Paton (who saved Emma from her terrible life) with hugs and kindness as they return Emma to Mrs. Indeglew. They need adoption papers to prove that it is Emma and she belongs to Mrs. Indeglew. Paton went through obstacles to find the papers. He does and Emma lives happily ever after. She will return to school soon. Paton helped because he is in love with Mrs. Indeglew (they are dating) and Charlie Bone helped because he is really nice and wants adventures.
