Allegiant

Name: Allegiant
Author: Veronica Roth
Pages Read: 644/644
Main Characters: Tris Prior, Tobias Eaton, Christina, Jeanine Mathews (antagonist)

Tris and her freinds have made it throught half the war between the Erudite. Tris and Christina are in the Erudite Headquarters when the book starts, they are in the cells. Later on most of the story is outside the fence of their city and in laboratories. Jeanine Mathews is dead but Evelyn took over the plan to kill the factions. Erudite thinks there is nothing else beyond the fence, but Tris thinks there is a way to stop the death serum from going around and killing everyone, even the Divergent. Jeanine Mathews was working on a serum so powerful that it could kill the Divergents, which are normally imune to the serums.

The first sentence of the book refers to the Erudite Headquarters: I pace in our cell in Erudite headquarters, her words echoing in my mind: My name will be Edith Prior, and there is much I am happy to forget.

The Dragonfly Pool - By Eva Ibbotson

At the moment I am on page 155 of 397 pages. This novel is set before and at the beginning of World War II, in the year 1939, which is what causes Tally, the protagonist to go on her 'adventure.'
So far the book has had two settings. The first couple of chapters are set in London, England.
The following are a few quotes to prove the first few chapters are set in London, England.

'But England was not a hot country.'

'The government was trying them out to protect the people of London against enemy aircraft if the war, which everyone was expecting, came.'

The book mention many landmarks that London is known for as while such as the London Eye and St. Paul's cathedral. The second quote not only talks about London but also indicates which year it is, when mentioning the war.

 The most of the book is set in the beautiful country of 'Bergania,' obviously made up by Ibbotson. Tally first hears about in a travel guide, admiring it because of it's beautiful landscape, with tall mountains , with white peaks, beautiful lakes and forests. A very interesting line from the book explains two things at the same time. While explaining the flags' colours (red, green and white) it says;

' Green was for the fir trees that hugged Bergania's mountains, red for the glowing sunsets behind the peaks, white for the everlasting snows.'

In most cases, I learnt what the setting was, not by reading something directly, but by inferring from something else.

Camp Confidential #3

I just started reading this book, so If the blog post isn't very long, don't be surprised. I will try to make it detailed.

Grace has been at camp for two summers now. Everyone but her has a best friend. One day, when she goes to her drama class, she meets a nice girl from her rival bunk, 3A. They become best friends and all her friends from her bunk tease her about it.

This is all I read.

Out of My Mind~ CLIMAX! YAY!

Hello Everybody

The book I am reading is called Out Of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper.

The climax is when Melody gets her Medi-Talker. I believe that this is the climax because Melody has spent her whole life with out saying a single word. Her Medi-Talker has different nouns, verbs and so on to help her finally tell the world what she has to say.

Mrs. V helps Melody charge her Medi-talker and them secures it onto Melody's tray that is connected to her wheel chair. To Melody it is amazing because her dad is filming her first words that she never got to say when she was a toddler. Also, this event is important because this is when things start to become a little bit of a problem because not that many people want to hear what she wants to say. And that leads to betrayal.

Sorry for late blog post

Wild Man Island...the author is Will Hobbs.
I have read all the pages in the book.  I think there is more than one exciting part in this book.  I will say them:  When Andy leaves the camping spot, when Andy tries to get back to the camping spot, when Andy sees the Wild Man (David).
