Out of My Mind~ CLIMAX! YAY!

Hello Everybody

The book I am reading is called Out Of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper.

The climax is when Melody gets her Medi-Talker. I believe that this is the climax because Melody has spent her whole life with out saying a single word. Her Medi-Talker has different nouns, verbs and so on to help her finally tell the world what she has to say.

Mrs. V helps Melody charge her Medi-talker and them secures it onto Melody's tray that is connected to her wheel chair. To Melody it is amazing because her dad is filming her first words that she never got to say when she was a toddler. Also, this event is important because this is when things start to become a little bit of a problem because not that many people want to hear what she wants to say. And that leads to betrayal.

Sorry for late blog post

I have read all the pages in the book.  I think there is more than one exciting part in this book.  I will say them:  When Andy leaves the camping spot, when Andy tries to get back to the camping spot, when Andy sees the Wild Man (David).

To Kill a Mockingbird

The book I am reading for my book report is entitled To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.  I have read 255 out of 323 pages of the book. The main climax of the story is when Arthur "Boo" Radley saves Jem and Scout while they were walking back from the Halloween Pageant. What happened was Scout lost her dress and shoes so they left late.  They went through a forest and on the way Jem heard something.  They would stop once and a while but after the last time, somebody attacked them.  The person was Bob Ewell.  Arthur came to the rescue and stabbed Mr. Ewell with Bob's own knife.  During the beginning of  the fight, Jem got hurt and broke his arm.  The following picture is when they find out Arthur saved Jem and Scout.

Star Girl

By Jerry Spinelli #180/180

The three most important parts of my novel (the climax) are that Star girl falls in love with Leo, the whole school starts to hate Star girl and Leo wants Star girl to change. All of these things are the climax because the whole school hated Star Girl and if they didn't hate her then Leo wouldn't want her to change. On the other hand Star Girl did not want to change but Leo convinced her to, and after one week she changed back to her normal self. If Star Girl stayed the same way and never changed back to her old self than people would like her more. Because she changed no one seemed to get bothered by her anymore and she turned into one of them, but she had to change and she wanted to change and then all of the kids new her as Star Girl not as Sussan (her real name).

Heaven

The book I'm reading is called Heaven. It's written by Angela Johnson.

The three most important events in the climax are Marley meeting a friend who she really trusts, Marley finding out about her mother's car accident and Marley finding out about Jack her father which doesn't want to be her father.
I really liked this book I give it 10/10.

Troy by Adèle Geras

Hello my dear readers.
Today in this blog post I will be explaining the main climax. I am saying the main climax because there are many exciting parts in this story but this is the most intense part. The climax is when the beautiful maid Marpessa and the nurse Xanthe meet up in the gardens where King Priam used to take lonely walks in. In more detail I will describe what they said to each other. Marpessa spotted Xanthe, "Oh, there you are my dear sister." She rushed to Xanthe. "What did you need to tell me Marpessa?" asked Xanthe. Marpessa looked left and right to see if there would be anyone around to intrude, but like every night here in Troy, it was silent. "I am sorry for this but remember one thing, I love you and I never wanted to hurt you." Marpessa stated.

"Why must you talk like that Marpessa, what's wrong?" Xanthe was worried. Marpessa led Xanthe to a bench and sat down. "I know you love Alastor, right? One day when I was in the sewing room Aphrodite appeared in front of me. She said to me that my work was beautiful, but then she told me that she was bored on Mount Olympus and she needed to find two sisters to fight over one guy and so she chose us. I told her that I did not love anyone but she said that you did and then I realized she was going to make me fall in love with Alastor but I told her that if she did that it would break our trust. I have now fought against her power and given Alastor to you but it is too late and now I have to deal with this child." exclaimed Marpessa. Xanthe had burst into tears. " I don't believe you. My own sister betrayed me. I don't believe that it was Aphrodite. I never believed that you could see the gods." sobbed Xanthe while running away. " Then let me get rid of this child alone!" shouted Marpessa.

That was the climax everybody! Hope you enjoyed. I have read the whole book as you might think.

The Mourning Emporium by Michelle Lovric

As you know, I have finished this book that I'm doing for my book project. The main climax of the Mourning Emporium is when Teo and Renzo arrive in London and fight their protagonist, Il Traditore (the traitor). They build an army with their friends from London and Venice, Turtledove, Sofonisba, and Turtledove's cronies, a range of squirrels and chipmunks. Against the dozens and dozens of baddened ghosts, other villains, and Bajamonte Tiepolo himself they don't stand much chance!

I think this is definitely the climax. So many things lead up to this moment. Even though this is towards the end of the book it is evidently the climax of the Mourning Emporium. If Teo and Renzo hadn't joined the floating orphanage called the Scilla, then they wouldn't have arrived in London from Venice. As soon as Teo and Renzo reach London, Bajamonte Tiepolo (more commonly known as Il Traditore,) is trying desperately to hunt down the two children. Teo managed to disguise their boat, while Renzo risks his life to try and save London. Renzo finds himself in prison for nothing and waits for his death, to be hung. Thankfully, Teo manages to break into the prison and free Renzo from his future pain. Of course, this does not mean that Renzo is completely safe, no-one is safe when Bajamonte Tiepolo is around! Unfortunately, Bajamonte Tiepolo manages to get to Teo and Renzo and have a battle. Luckily, for Teo and Renzo, Teo's parents (who were forced to create a 'Teo and Renzo killing-machine') flawed it. As soon as Bajamonte Tiepolo and his consort, Ms. Uish touch it, it mysteriously splurts fatal poison onto them causing them to fall over and drown in the deep, blue sea, filled with giant squids and unpleasant night-fish.

The Kinds Of Friends We Used To Be: Climax

I have finished reading my book project novel "The Kind Of Friends We Used to be" by Frances O’Roarke Dowell. The climax and resolution of the story is when Merlin and Kate realize that they have changed interests and opinions and can no longer be the best of friends, but they can at least be friends.

Hoot

I just finished reading a book called Hoot by Carl Hiaasen. The climax of this novel is when the kids in Trace middle school stand up for Mother Paula's Pancake house and save the owls. This happened because Roy, Beatrice, and Mullet Fingers wanted to save the owls ans so they came up with a plan trying to call as many people as they can to help them, and in the end Roy looks at the paper work and sees that the environmental assessment record is missing. By that he saved the owls. I think that this is the Climax because it is the main part.

The Castle in the Attic

    Hi guys!
Today I will write about my book's climax.
The climax of my book is when William arrives at Alastor's castle. The castle is guard by a dragon. William heard that he can defeat the dragon ONLY is he looks straight in his eyes. Then he will start seeing horror scenes. If he can resist looking at all the scenes he will have the control of the dragon. He resist so he had the control of the dragon. Then he entered the castle. Alastor was looking for a fool so William thought that will be an awesome opportunity for him to enter the castle.
He met Alastor. Alastor told him to show his skills so William start doing his gymnastic routine. Alastor was amazed so he decided to keep William at the castle. William was showing Alastor new things every day. One day when William was doing his routine he did something strange: He jumped over Alstor. He hit Alstor in his chest with his knee, but that wasn't enough. William needs to do one more step: to do like with the dragon, to look straight in his eyes and resist at horror scenes. William resist again and he killed Alastor.
This is the climax! Hope you enjoyed!
     P.S Comment please!!!

ME, THE MISSING AND THE DEAD

Author: Jenny Valentine

This is my new story, as a mentioned in my previous posts. It is very intriguing, and as I said before, it is very mysterious. I am enjoying it so far, and I hope it turns out to be an interesting, and a nice wrap up and solution. Now what is the problem in my book? Well there is one main problem, and another not so important one, but still plays a crucial part in the climax. First of all, I would like to mention the setting: London, England. Characters: The main character is Lucas Swain. He is a sixteen year old boy looking for answers, which ones? You will find out later in my post. His mom is called Nick. he has an older sister named Mercy, father Pete (missing) and little brother Jed. The three live in a house located in London, England.

The main problem, is definitely Pete. Under mysterious circumstances, 5 years ago Pete, was going to work one day, he where never to come back again. An investigation was led, but nothing was found, now 5 years later, the 4 struggle to battle versus the tide. With no Pete, Nick is the engine of the house. She does all necessary things for her 3 children to manage. Jed is small, and relies on being tooken care of by his bigger brother, Lucas. Lucas is described as a large handsome man, with a big heart.  Mercy is not really described, and Nick is said to be pessimistic and sad, due to the family loss..... She always shouts how Pete is mean and he abandoned them, but the truth is different, and I will not talk about it.

The second and less important problem is finances. The budget is extremely limited, and the 4 rely on what they had from the past. For example, Lucas, always wares his fathers torn and small shoes, he needs to. But Lucas, believes that his father is still alive, and there is some sort of hope inside him. Here is a sentence, that might appear pessimistic, that proves his point: "......I saw a film once about an alien who landed on earth in a human body in a mental hospital. He had all this amazing stuff to teach everyone and he kept telling the doctors who he was, where he was from, and what he had to offer in the way of secrets of the universe and stuff; but they just thought he was crazy and pumped him full of drugs and he stayed there until he died.Maybe something like this happened to my father......" We shall see what happens in my next post, thanks!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - Post 4

Hello everyone, I finally FINISHED the book, 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire', which was written by J.K. Rowling, and I read 734 pages out of 734 (YES! FINALLY!).
This is a scene/part when Harry Potter is getting the golden egg/Triwizard clue from the Hungarian Horntail in a task.
I think the main climax of this book is when Voldemort returned and dueled with Harry, which caused a strange gold connection of their wands. This part or climax or scene is near the end of the book, and is in the chapters: 'Flesh, Blood, and Bone', 'The Death Eaters', and 'Priori Incantatem'. In the climax, Harry Potter, the most important main character in this book (the protagonist), and Cedric Diggory, another Triwizard Tournament champion and one of the characters in the book, grabbed the the Triwizard Cup because that is the Third Task: finding the Triwizard Cup (Quick explanation of the Triwizard Tournament and the three tasks: the Triwizard Tournament is a friendly tournament between the three famous schools in Europe, which are 'Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry', 'Beauxbatons', and 'Durmstrang'. The the Triwizard Tournament is held every 5 years.). The Triwizard Cup appeared to be a Portkey, which is one of the things used for Magical Transportation. Harry and Cedric gets teleported to an old graveyard in Little Hangleton, near Tom Riddle Sr. (Voldemort's father)'s grave. Wormtail (one of the friends of James Potter, Voldemort's spy, a traitor, an Animagus, and also known as Peter Pettigrew) and Voldemort appeared to be there, and Wormtail killed Cedric following Voldemort's order to kill Cedric:
      "Kill the spare."
It turned out that this was all a scheme attempted to return Voldemort and give him a new body made and planned by Voldemort and his present supporters, who were Barty Crouch Jr. and Wormtail. They had to prepare a special potion to bring Voldemort and his body back, and the ingredients of this potion was: Harry's blood ("... Blood of the foe, forcibly taken..."), a bone of Tom Riddle Sr. ("...Bone of the father..."), hot, boiling, enchanted water, and Wormtail's hand ("... Flesh of the servant, willingly given..."). Voldemort and Wormtail needed to bring Harry to the graveyard to break the protection Lily Potter (Harry's mother) gave to Harry, which flowed in Harry's blood. Since Voldemort got and took Harry's blood, he was able to inherit the protection of Lily Potter, and by that, he could touch Harry.
Due to Voldemort's return, the Death Eaters (Voldemort's supporters and Dark wizards) returned to Voldemort. Then Voldemort forced Harry to duel with him (with magic and their wands), and Voldemort and Harry dueled together with spells, Voldemort using the Unforgivable Curses, and Harry simply using Expelliarmus, the Disarming Spell. When Voldemort attempted to kill Harry with Avada Kedavra, the Killing Curse, a strange connection between Harry and Voldemort's wand happened, connected by a thin gold thread which formed a webbed, gold circle around them. Then some ghosts of the victims of Voldemort (all killed by Voldemort) went out of Voldemort's wand and helped Harry escape Voldemort and the Death Eaters to the Quidditch field in Hogwarts.
I thought this was the climax of the story, because this part was when the most important part of the book was, and was the part when all of the secrets and mysteries found or made throughout the book was solved. This was the part when everything in the book was waiting for and was about, and by this part, the readers and Harry learned an important part of information: Harry and Voldemort's wands were connected, and when they try to harm each other fatally, it would cause that strange connection and the webbed, gold circle.

I have read 381/381

The climax of the book is in the last days of the trial with Steve Harmon.
The prosecutor brings new and new evidence and tries to prove Steve is guilty.
His defender tries hard to prove the opposite.
At the time of the jury desisions there is plenty of tention but at the end the jury proclames Steve not guilty.

Pretties

Pretties

By: Scott Westerfeld

I have read all of the 370 pages of the wonderful novel "Pretties". The climax of the novel "Pretties" is Tally Youngblood's and Zane's escape to New Pretty Town. When they arrived at The New Smoke Tally and Zane had a complicated time, because of Tally's past relationship with David. Afterwards the specials attack The New Smoke, and Shay, Tally's friend is one of them.

Hey sixth graders,

I have finished reading the book Whittington by Alan Armstrong. The book got better and better towards the middle. When I finished t I researched a little bit about Dick Whittington and his cat and was surprised with what I found out.

The main climax in my book was... Well, there was nothing to special that happened in the book. It was all pretty much the same thing. Animals telling about their lives in a barn and a cat telling history tales.

I guess you could call teaching the boy to read a climax. In my book the animals in the barn were trying to teach a boy how to read. He had dyslexia, which is a disease were people see letters all turned around and backwards. This made it harder for him to read. In the end he got pretty good at reading and the animals felt really accomplished. That is the only thing that I can think of as a climax, when the boy learned how to read. It was interesting because whenever he could not read a word correctly he would get really upset and angry, sometimes he would even throw things. It was interesting how barn animals taught him to read, animals can not talk. in this book apparently the animals could talk and that is how they taught the boy word by word how to read. I found this strange since this was not a book about magic.

I found out that Dick Whittington was not a real life person, neither was his cat. They were both based on real life people though. I think this makes the book plenty more interesting because you know what you are reading is true.

I hope you like my blog post. I am sorry I did not have a clearer climax but nothing different really happened in the book. I know this sounds boring but it is actually pretty good.

Call it Courage - The part of the book that we read for!

Hello people!

As you all know already, I am reading Call it courage, a novel by Armstrong Sperry.
But today I am here to explain the climax of this particular book. I would say that it is a bit complicated because there are a lot of conflicts and then in the last ten [pages the cannibals come to sacrifice Mafutu (did they fail?)

So the actual climax in my eyes (or opinion) is when Mafutu saw the black ships coming forward, arriving at daybreak, seizing him and finally..!

(sorry, can't spoil the story)
\(did he escape?)

OK, OK, let's get real.

Mafutu jumped on his beautiful (just crafted) canoe and tries to escape. The cannibals chase him, but the sea is in his favor. The cannibals (or obvious antagonists) really try to chase but Mafutu's canoe is just too good for them to even try catch up. The cannibals needed to sacrifice something,,, and they did not want to miss this opportunity. They tried hooking on to his craft but it did not work. they tried human propellers but it did not work resulting that Mafutu peacefully sailed back to his own island; Hikueru and he was awarded a boar-toothed necklace, for the courage he had shown.

They try, but they failed as I would say.

Thank you for reading this post and my last one of this School Quarter!

The Hobbit

Title: "The Hobbit"
Author: J. R. R. Tolkien
Pages read: 351
Pages the book has: 351

Dear bloggers and readers,
I am reading a book called "The Hobbit", J. R. R. Tolkien. I finished the book a long time ago, so I started focusing on the actual book project.
There are many turning parts in this book, but the one I chose is the part were the men of Lake Town try and defeat the dragon, Smaug. The main characters are not included as much, because while the men of Lake Town were fighting Smaug, the hobbit and the dwarfs were waiting for the dragon to show up (they didn't know where Smaug was at the time). Smaug came to attack Lake Town, and in that attack many people died and were injured. The whole Lake Town was torn apart and drowned. Bard, the bowman form Lake Town, was the one who finally slayed the dragon. He achieved this by finding a weak spot on Smaug's body (since his body was covered in diamonds), and shot an arrow there. I will not tell you anymore since i already told you more than I should have. Read to find out what happened to Bilbo and the dwarfs after that. It is a great book and I hope this blog-post convinced you to read it.
