Mau - A boy who would have killed himself if it wasn't for a girl on the island. Mau escaped from death twice or the girl saved him twice. Mau is responsible, kind, caring, brave and has no soul.
Ermintrude (so called Daphne)- A girl who saved Mau twice and almost drowned but Mau saved her. She is brave and ready to help. She is convinced that her father will come for her.
Summary:
After the wave everything is lost. Mau and the ghost girl are alone on Nation. The Grandfathers are bossing Mau around. Locaha tries to take the ghost girl but fails. People start to come to the Nation. Soon there is a tribe again. But White people come the canibals come with a whiteman in charge. Tribe leaders fight one to one which mean Mau has to fight a man with guns. Mau wins and the canibals go away. Daphne's Father comes and becomes King. The ghost girl leaves but visits in a year. Then never again.
