The conflict in the book Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is that the children from a village are taken and turned into slaves. The people who captured them are called The Thuggee (it means thieves). They are some kind of a gang, that when a man crosses this special path to Pankot Palace they capture and kill him. I think that the problem will be solved by Indy killing The Thuggee and freeing the children slaves.
