The theme of The Hobbit is bravery. This is the theme because the dwarves travels far away from there home to kill a humungous dragon named Smag. In the book there is bravery on page 251 "Arrow!" said the bowman "Black arrow! I have saved you at last. You have never failed me and always i have recovered you. I had you from my father and he from old If you came from the forage of the true king under the mountain , go now and speed well" H shot it at the dragon and he killed it. That shows bravery.
