The conflict of the story "the last book in the universe" is that Spaz doesn't want to be one of the people who are at the bottom and that all robots and other machinery are destroying the earth. The people who re in this conflict are Spaz and his protector + best friend. i think later on into the book the world becomes nice again and all peaceful but i do not know because i didn't finish the book yet.
