Autobiography by Branislav Nusic

I am reading Autobiography by Branislav Nusic, a famous Serbian writer.
I started reading this week and, so far, he has talked he has talked about his early childhood.  He was born on 20th October 1864. Most of the facts he wrote are actually jokes, so, he said that he was born in  a small house where a bank is located now and that at first his family thought he was a girl. He also said that with his first tooth he bit his father's finger. When he was baptized, as a baby, he hated the moment when they pored the cold water over his head. He said he swore at the priest a very bad word.
One of the interesting words is butoni. It means buttons, but here it is used as earrings. For example,  Gospođa Olga je za rođendan dobila nove butone. Another interesting word is vajkati se which means to complain. For example, Moja majka se često vajkala: " Ne znam šta ću s njim, on je preterano živahno dete!"
