In English class we are reading as a group a book called: "My life with Chimpanzees" by Jane Goodall. This book is about the author's life with chimpanzees as it says in the title and the author's childhood. Jane Goodall as a child was very interested in animals. Jane Goodall grew up in London, England until she had to leave to a lovely house that her dad once lived in with her sisters and a nanny in France because of WWII. There, she went to several school that she didn't really enjoy and she had more of an interest in being outdoors and learning about animals. She spent hours watching how a hen lay their eggs in a farm she once lived in with her mom. When Jane Goodall grew up, she became an ethologist who is a scientist that studies animal behavior. In the book she talked about ethologists who studied ducks, honey bees and sea gulls. Jane studied chimpanzees in Tanzania but its took a long long time for her to get close to them because chimpanzees are very dangerous animals and also Jane dreamed of going to Africa and her mom supported her.

Two words that I found interesting in the  two chapters we have read were ethologist and placid or placidly.

Ethologist is a scientist that studies animal behavior. My sentence: "The amazing work of the ethologist Konrad Lorence helped me learn a lot of duck behavior as a animal."
Placid means not easily upset or exited. A person who is placid is calm, tranquil, even-tempered, and cool. My sentence: "The placid girl was very different to its mother who is very easily upset."
