LORD OF THE FLIES
William Golding
SETTING

The small island is situated somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. Most of the island’s habitat is tropical and is covered by rain forest terrain. The small piece of land is also surrounded by many  beaches. The island is inhabited mostly with pigs that are important for the boys’ survival. To begin with, they venture through the jungle flora searching and scavenging for anything they can salvage. Their meeting point and base of operations is the beach where they met, which is abundant in sublime lagoons. The children were stranded in the 1950’s and stayed there for a long period of time. The weather is tropical and the rain forest is full of water and small streams which also helped them survive.
