The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

Right now the story is set in Camp Half- Blood. Percy Jackson just arrived and doesn't know what's going on or that he's the son of a god. The book doesn't say anything about the time, but it could be around now. Looking at the things happening and what the narrator says it wasn't long ago. In this story, the setting is very important for the plot too, it kind of sets the whole story off. Since Camp Half-Blood is a summer camp, it is the book is set in summer. The weather is weird, there's many natural disasters occurring. Big storms with lightning are occurring every day. The narrator (also the main character, Percy) says it's been like that since Christmas. Percy is very confused in this part of the book because he's surrounded by people who believe in Greek gods, even their children.
