The Phantom Tollbooth :SUMMARY

The book I chose to read is called The Phantom Tollbooth. This novel is written by Norton Juster and illustrated by Jules Feiffer. This story is about a boy named Milo(a very bored boy) and how his life dramatically changed one he got an unfamiliar mail that transported him into another world.During Milos journey in this lands beyond he gets lots of missions and tasks that help him not get bored .The Protagonist of this book is Milo and the antagonist is Ignorance. Milo is an ordinary boy except he seems to be bored and dull all the time. The antagonist of this novel is Ignorance. Ignorance means to be un'educated and in this case the lack of knowledge and lack of inquiry prevents Milo from overcoming the conflict. Ignorance is also the area where all the scary demons are in the Island of Conclusions. I think that the author tried to show how bad ignorance or being ignorant is by making Ignorance the home to all the demons, this also shows how ignorance un helped Milo from reaching the Castle in the air.
