The protagonist of this adventure novel is Jon. Jon lives in Sexton with his stepmother and his half brother. The rest of Jon's family lives in Grub towns and work as grubs. Jon is 17 years old. He is very strong, tall, slim and athletic. He is very intelligent and hard working. There are two antagonists in the story. The first one is the moon. Four years ago an asteroid hit the moon and it became really close to the earth. Since then the tides have changed and so have the volcanoes, the tides are out of control and volcanoes keep erupting. Jon's live changed dramatically. The second antagonists are the guards. \they keep killing people, including some of Jon's family
