The book I am reading is Divergencia, it is an English book translated into Slovak. Veronica Roth, the author, wrote the Divergent trilogy and this is the first book. The novel was published in April of 2011, and by January, 2014 Divergent had sold over 10 million copies! The best-seller has also been made into a movie. The author of Divergencia did a great job hooking you into her book by the first page.
A lot has happened in the 63 pages I have read. The protagonist of the story, Beatrice (a.k.a. Tris), has chosen to spend the rest of her life working in a faction, separated from her family. The faction is called "Neohrozenost" or "Fearless" in English. Tris made the decision to work for this faction by her self, after she found out that she was a divergent. Divergent are people that the test, which determines what the rest of your life will be, does not work on. Divergents are dangerous and illegal.
The faction that Tris works in is supposed to protect the city and make sure the people within the city stay safe. The people that work for the Fearless faction must not be scared, must be strong and intelligent. Not to mention fearless. Every year when newcomers arrive to work for the fearless, the leader picks ten of the people from the new people to become part of the Fearless. The people that do not make it to these top ten are kicked out of the Fearless faction and are sent to the faction that useless people live in.
Tris does not have a good start to making it to the top ten new people because off her size and her background. Tris is the smallest of the people being tested, this is not an advantage when you need to be a good fighter, strong and when you need to be able to go anywhere you need to (jumping onto a moving train, etc). Another disadvantage Tris has is the fact that she comes from the faction "Sebezaprenia" or "Abnegation" in English. This faction is thought of lowly. Does Tris stand a chance?
Two words I did not know are "nahradi" and "pokozku". Nahradi is the Slovak word for replace, to take the place off something or somebody else. I found this word on page 47 when Tris was thinking about who will replace her brother, as he was supposed to cook for the family today (her brother Caleb also left his family). A new sentence in which I could use the word is "I was going to replace the old vase with a new one, but my mother said I couldn't." The word pokozku means the skin on your face in slovak. I found it on page 48 when Tris described a boy that she met on the train. Another sentence in which this word could be used is "the skin on his face was a different color to the rest of him, it was darker and browner than his arms."

Great long blog Martin watch on grammar a tiny tad for you accidentally wrote off instead of of. But other wise this is perfect in every way.
