It tells about how Pi Patel survived on a sailboat with a Bengal Tiger for 227 days. The book is based on true happenings in the past.

Through his journey Pi stumbles upon many obstacles. Pi is forced to fight for life with a tiger during his journey to shore. There are those people who fierce will to live and will overcome every obstacle to succeed this is truly Pi. There's a quote by which I believe Pi Patel lives by. “That which does not kill us makes us stronger” - Friedrich Nietzsche

Throughout Pi’s odyssey on the Pacific Ocean he withstood the dangers of the ocean and weather. He was faced with dehydration, starvation, blindness, loneliness while trying to maintain hope and the will to live. Pi was faced with mental obstacles he had to bare with the death of his family and the decision to kill another animal.

  1. I have read the book and watch the book, they are both very emotional. I really liked the way you worded the summary, great use of vocabulary. I was very surprised at the end when he retells the story how he changes the characters. It was very sweet, but I was very surprised... I wonder how it would actually feel to be on the ocean for 227!?!? I really liked how you added a quote :) very nice overall
