Saxon Tales

The book Saxon Tales happens in England, in the years 841-851 AD. The book is about a boy named Uthred who was captured by Danish Vikings after his father's army was defeated. During his life, he travels all over Britannia, changing sides because fate is against Uthred. For example, after being captured by a Dane named Rangar, he was raised like a son by him. Afterwards, when he was 10, another viking named Kjartan burned Rangar's hall, killing everyone inside. During this hall-burning Uthred was hunting, so he was not killed. In the next few books, the protagnist tries to overthrow and kill Kjartan.

Bernard Cornwell is the author of this series.
