The author of this book is Rick Riordan. This book has 377 pages, it is a really good book because their are a lot of unexpected moments. The story starts when Percy goes to the half blood camp which is a beautiful camp in a forest for kids just like him.The story takes place in today's time but with creatures and gods from the Greek Mythology. Once he is in the camp Percy learns that his father is Poseidon and he is a half god. In the mean time Zeus's lightning bolt was stolen and Poseidon was accused of stealing it. Percy believes that Hades has the bolt and goes to the underworld to retrieve it. Once he is there, Hades blames him for stealing it and Percy must battle Hades and other dangers in the underworld to escape from there. This conflict is a man vs man one or god vs semi-god. However, in his quest to find the bolt Percy must battle many other creatures.
