This story took place in 1863 in königstrasse, Germany. The conflict in this story is Man vs. Nature, because they go to the journey to the center of the Earth and they have to pass nature as an obstacle so that's why the conflict is man vs. nature. The have to cut through rocks and on top of all that they face unknown monster which were definitely parts of nature.
