I am reading, The Broken Circle.

In this book, the sequel to the other book I read for my project there are all the same characters. Of course, you expected that. There are walking statues, or, shall I say, hopping? 

So, the friends go to rescue their run-away-friend-in-need, and come across an ever-lasting staircase. There is water on it, and it is so heavy that they fall off and one friend gets hurt really badly. 

That's all I have read so far, and I am left at a cliff hanger, that is kind of scary. Because I don't know what's going to happen to the hurt character.
