The Throne of Fire

Author: Rick Riordan
# of pages read: 447/447

What are some of the obstacles that the protagonist is faced with? What do they do to overcome these obstacles?
Well, since I haven't done a blog post in while, the protagonists of my book are Sadie and Carter Kane. If any of you have read the first book( The Red Pyramid) and want to read this DO NOT read this post. Thank you. :)

There are many obstacles which Sadie and Carter go through but the hardest was losing 3 hours of precious time and almost stuck in the Duat (another form of reality, a rip in space) having to watch the end of the world. Confused? You should be. So their parents accidentally released the Egyptian gods and in the act their mother died. Years later, their father released 5 major gods, Set, Osiris, Horus, Isis, and Nefertiti. So now having released also Apophis the "giant snake of chaos" and trying to re-awaken Ra, the sun god who was forced into retirement once blackmailed by Isis when she wanted her husband to be King/pharaoh. Having awakened Ra but still in senile old form, they are stuck in the duat for they cannot enter the 8th gate/house unless its the eight hour and the world is about to end the next day. Overcoming this was very least expecting but once at the 7th house, ( they continued their journey still), they met their mom and dad and gambled 3 hours with Khonsu, the god of moon, a sneak, liar, insane. They beat him in senet an ,old forgotten game, but sacrificed unwillingly Bes's soul/ren, his memories, and being. Bes was the dwarf god and their protector while Bast, the cat goddess who used to be disguised as Sadie's cat once set free by her mother who died afterward, was gone for a "mission". Yeah.............that's about it. Scratching out all the details.

  1. I really like how you wrote the blog post, and how you always make everything make sense, even if I haven't read the book, I have quite a clear understanding of it!
