I am reading the book “Hunger Games
Catching Fire.” The author is Suzanne Collins and the book contains of 391
pages.
Protagonist
The protagonist in this book is Katniss
Everdeen, 17-years old girl. She is also the narrator of Catching Fire. She has
black hair and gray eyes. Katniss is strong, fierce, but very quiet girl. She
is an excellent hunter who was only worker for her family for years. She only
wishes to keep safe everyone she loves. The quality of life for her and her
family has improved after winning the Hunger Games, but she does not like the
change and wishes to have her old life back. She realizes it changed forever
and she grows more and more angry at the government in the Capitol for what
they are doing to citizens of the Panem. Katniss soon realizes that her actions
in the Games have made her a role model for lot of people.
Antagonist
The antagonist in Catching Fire is the government of Panem shown
through President Snow. He is cruel leader in charge of everything that is
going on in the country. The main theme of the book is the Hunger Games in
which children are forced to kill each other to survive. The games are sort of
reminder of the power of the Capitol and the president is leading the games. He
is not the only antagonist here but he’s the main one. Lives of all citizens
are controlled by strong laws and merciless Peacekeepers that could also be
categorized as antagonists.
Nice enjoyed reading it and your right the peacekeepers are also the antagonists even though they take orders their not bothered to killer or torture people.
