The Author of the Red Badge of Courage is Stephen Crane. The book has 170 pages. I think red badge of courage is a very good novel that puts together many different emotions into one realistic book. I am reading a part when the main character Henry Fleming runs from the field of battle. The setting of the novel is during the Civil War. The time is 1862, it takes place along Virginia. The mood is Jolly because they think that they will crush the enemy. Stephen Crane has made more books but none of them are as good as the red badge of courage. Henry thinks war is a glorious battlefield where people shoot at each other with breaks for meals but sadly war is not like that. Henry goes to war even after his mom pleads him not to go. When he goes in the battlefield he realizes that war is not glorious and he flees. Later he regrets his choice and wants to go back to prove himself because he ran away. The way to reprove yourself is you have to have the red badge of courage. Which will redeem him.
