The Black Cauldron
Lloyd Alexander

The book that I am reading is The Black Cauldron written by Lloyd Alexander. The book contains 178 pages I am on the 23 page. Lloyd Alexander has also written The Book of Three, The Castle of Llyr, Taran Wanderer, The High King, and The foundling. All of these books are a part of the same series. The series is called The Chronicles of Prydain.

The setting of this story is in the past. The story starts on a crisp autumn day. In a little farm called Caer Dallben it is near the Great Avren River. It is the home of Taran, Coll, and Dallben. Many of the trees in Prydain were already leafless, and among the empty branches clung the ragged shapes of empty nests. To the south, across the river Great Avren, the hills shielded Caer Dallben. Across the river Great Avren is Caer Dallben’s neighbor Caer Cadarn.
