The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games

The story is told in the first person and retells the narrator’s personal history and experiences. The narration is mostly about how the main character feels, but on occasion she will imagine what other characters must be feeling. Mostly apathetic, but occasionally very can be emotional. The story takes part more than one hundred years in the future. Panem is the name of the country where Katniss lives with her family, the country created after the governments of North America collapsed. Droughts, storms, fires, war: it's all pretty post-apocalyptic.  At the beginning, Katniss, which is the main female protagonist, lives in District 12. District 12 is a very poor coal-mining district located in the region formerly known as Appalachia (3.50). Katniss and her family live in the poor section of District 12, the Seam, where the coal-miners live and work. It is part of a trilogy. The novel is about how a girl named katniss competes in the hunger games.

  2. I enjoyed reading your post, it was very serious and solid. What I liked about the writing is that you did not only describe the setting (which you did well) you also described the books stile or mood very well. You described the authors aproach to writing well.
