The Lord of The Rings : The Return of The King

Title: The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Author: J. R. Tolkien
Pages Read: 1045/1349

Frodo and Sam (the protagonists) head into Mordor to try to destroy the One Ring at the place it was created, Mount Doom. Smeagol (Gollum) leads Sam and Frodo to the volcano where the ring was created, but halfway he had a thought to kill them both and take the Ring for himself. Smeagol tosses the last of their food over a clif in Mordor and blames Sam to get rid of him, claiming that Sam wanted the ring for himself. Unfortunatly, Frodo believed Smeagol and told Sam to go home. Back at Minas Tirith, Gandalf, Pippin, and the king try to defend them selves against the Nazgul seeking to destroy Minas Tirith. Aragorn (the king of Rohan) is given the sword Andúril to find the Army of The Dead and to get them to help win the war. When Frodo and Smeagol reach Moun Doom, Smeagol tries to kill Frodo but Sam catches up to them and Sam thinks that Smeagol is gone, but when Frodo was to destroy the Ring, instead he put it on, and Smeagol rips off Frodo's index finger to get the Ring.

Sam attacks Smeagol and sends him into Mount Doom, along with the Ring. The Ring melts and The Eye (Sauron) crumbles because it was the power of the Ring that kept it working. The war is won by Minas Tirith, Rohan, and the Army of the Dead. Both of the biggest problems in the book was solved by destroying the Ring.

(I don't really know why I put this, it just shows Smeagol's evilness. Is that even a word?)
