Lois Lowry

The author of my book "Number the Stars"  is Lois Lowry. Lois was born in March 20, 1937 in Hawaii and grew up in New York, Pennsylvania and Japan. Lois  has won two Newbery Medals for two of her books Number the stars and The Giver. Lois's first book was called A Summer To Die, this novel revived the "International Reading Association's Children's Book Award". Before Lois wrote she was a photographer, then she became a journalist, which drew her attention to becoming a children books writer. Lois was the middle child of three she had an older sister Helen and a younger brother Jon, Helen died in 1962, that death made her write her first book A Summer To Die. But Lois brother Jon who is six years younger became a doctor. There is a little biography of Lois Lowry.
