Her mother, Elsie De Sola Fox, who didn't want her only daughter, sent Paula Fox to a foundling home, and Paula Fox's grandmother rescued her. Paula Fox wrote twenty one children stories, and seven adult stories.
She has one daughter, Linda Carroll, a granddaughter, Courtney Love, and a great-granddaughter, Francis Bean Cobain.
