Roald Dahl's biography


The father of Roal Dahl died when his son was 3 years old. Roald was raised by his mother. He had an unhappy time at boarding school. Roald Dahl signed up with the Royal Air Force and he was injured during the war and came home as an an invalid. He started working as an Attache in Washington D.C. and that's when he started his writing career. Roald Dahl published his first children's book in 1943 "The Gremlins". As a father, he started telling stories to his own children.  Roald Dahl wrote a total of 21 children's books such as "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", the "BFG" (the one I am reading), "Matilda", and the "Witches". Roald Dahl died on November 23,1990.
