Christopher Paul Curtis was born in Flint, Michigan, on May 10, 1953. He has a wife named Habon  and three kids named Steven, Cydney and Ayaan. After high school he spent 13 years working at the Fisher Body plant while he went to college at night. He decided to take a year off school to write his first book called Watsons Go to Birmingham-1963. The second book that he wrote called Bud, Not Buddy got both the Newbery Medal and the Coretta Scott King Author Award. His most recent book is called Elijah of Buxton and won a Newbery Honor, the Coretta Scott King Author Award. Christopher Paul Curtis has many hobbies that include playing basketball, collecting record albums and writing. He now lives in Windsor, Ontario Canada with his wife and children.
