Alice in Wonderland: Setting

Obviously, this story is set in the fictitious world of Wonderland, conjured by Lewis Carroll's very creative subconscious mind. Most of its residents are speaking animals and very little makes sense. The time period in which this immensely strange story takes place is unknown because, as the Hatter explains, in Wonderland time is no longer a method of keeping track of night and day but a man who, if treated with kindness, is willing to do the favour of toying with the clock to your preference. If the setting of this story was to be changed, then whole plot would have to change as well, for the nonsensical events that shape the novel itself can only conform in Wonderland. I would greatly enjoy to visit this absurd place but sadly it can only be accessed in the depths of one's unlimited imagination.
