I have read 250 pages of the book Traitor's Kiss, by Pauline Francis. It is about Elizabeth the 1st at the ages of 13 to 15 years old. Elizabeth was only 2 years old when her father, the King, Henry the eight, executed her mother, Anne Boleyn. There is gossip that she was a witch, and bewitched the King. Elizabeth heard lies her whole life, didn't know what to believe. That until she met her mother's lady-in-waiting named Alys. Alys told Elizabeth about Anne Boleyn, how she smiled and frowned, laughed and cried, and danced. Elizabeth feels better after her talk with Alys, but not for long, as her stepfather was waiting for her to return. Her stepfather was desperate for the Throne of England, and wanted to marry Elizabeth, for he would become King. Thomas Seymour, her stepfather, kissed her, and a huge scandal haunted Elizabeth for a while. Elizabeth was held captive in her own palace until she agreed to the lies about her relationship with Thomas Seymour. She soon became queen without marrying.
