In the next 30 pages, much action is taking place. Mary Alice and her grandma are steeling pecans and pumpkins together to make pies for the Halloween party in her school. Everybody loves the pies and wishes to eat more one after another. Tomorrow they head of to the duck shooting contest, where men show of ther bird killing skills while the women watch gracefully. Grandma Dowdel at the end of the contest tell's everyone to give her money wich she puts into her big dress pocket. When everybody gave grandma what they had, they left. Grandma and Mary Alice went inside Mrs. Abernathy's house. Grandma gave her the the money wich  Mrs. Abernathy put into coffee jars. Later they went upstairs to see something. They walked into an upstairs room in wich a blind man sat in a weelchair. He was Mrs. Abernathy's son. Grandma and Mary left the house and talked about the blind son of Mrs. Abernathy who is by looking in grandma's eyes maby Mary Alice's dad . Mary Alice was in her school Christmas spirit. She played the mother of baby Jesus. Find out more in my next blog next week, find out who is he black figure outside grandnas house, and where was grandma while Mary Alice watched the figure getting closer ahile she was home alone.
