The Slave Dancer-Main Character

The Slave Dancer
The main character of my book, The Slave Dancer, is Jessie Bollier. Jessie is a brown haired thirteen year old boy who is interested in slavery. Jessie plays his fife to earn a few pennies, and when he gets kidnapped, Jessie is forced to play his fife while the captured slaves dance. This makes Jessie change his opinion about music. At the end of the book Jessie says: " I was unable to listen to music. I could not bear to hear a woman sing, and at the sound of any instrument, a fiddle, a flute, a drum, a comb with paper wrapped around it played by my only child, I would leave instantly and shut myself away." In this book they don't describe Jessie Bollier's physical appearance.
