The author of Call it courage (as I have undoubtedly said already) is Armstrong Sperry.
The award this amazing book has won is the famous Mulberry award. The Mulberry award is an award dedicated to certain books with great English use of literature at children's appropriate reading level. This honestly is one of the greatest things to hear as an author (in my opinion) because you see that other people respect and think that your literature is incredibly amazing.
I think that the Mulberry company honestly made a very clever decision awarding this book because to me this is just a great adventure, piece of historical fiction and just...very good story!
It has a clear story line... The main character has a goal... It has a beginning-middle-end-its just fantastic!
(Quick citation) "Oh, and yes. The shoulder blade of the whale could be an ax". This shows that this novel has humor and that the main character is very creative which is great in a story.
