Harry Potter - The Goblet of Fire

Hello all, the novel I am reading now for my book report is 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' by J.K. Rowling. I read 450 pages out of 734, and it is a very interesting book so far (but it is hard to read it; it is a bit too long. But it is still AWESOME!).

I think there were three main characters in this book, which were: Harry Potter, the most important of all characters including the main characters. The other two main characters were Ron Weasley, one of Harry Potter's best friends, and Hermione Granger, another one of Harry's best friends. Harry and Ron were wizards, and Hermione a witch, and they all went (attended) to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a magic school.
Harry was a very well-known boy in the Wizarding World (magic world, hidden from Muggles, normal people who had nothing to do with magic), for when he was a baby, he survived a Killing Curse from Lord Voldemort, the main antagonist and the most evil of all Dark Wizards (evil wizards). Anyway, I think (or in my opinion,) Harry was a very brave boy. You can know that by his actions, thought, speech, etc., and also by his House, which were four groups of wizards sorted by their personality, thought, wish, or basically every information about him or her. That event was called the Sorting, and the four Houses are: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. So, back to my subject. You can know that Harry was brave by his house, because there were different traits or personalities each House's wizards and witchs had. Gryffindor was known to be a brave House. I think he is also very independent, because he didn't seek help a lot even from his friends, or even when he was in a very complicated, grave, dangerous, or hard situation. I think he is also because of this part when he had to find out the next task of the Triwizard Tournament, a dangerous, breathtaking and exciting event that takes place in the three main schools in Europe; Beuxbatons, Hogwarts, and Durmstrang. Three school champions, each played for their school so their school could win. they had to go through three hard and dangerous tasks, and on the last task a winner would be chosen according to their points on how well they did the tasks. So Harry, for some strange reason, he was chosen by the Goblet of Fire, which chooses the champions, as the second Hogwarts Champion. So here is the part I read about Harry being independent in a not-so-good situation:
'"We're supposed to work out the clues alone, aren't we?" He said' (Harry said), when Ludo Bagman, a high member of the Ministry of Magic (a government-like organization in the wizarding world) offered Harry his help in solving the clue the Triwizard Tournament champions got to figure out what the second task is. But that was cheating, so Harry refused, even though Ludo Bagman kept on trying to help him. So he lied to Bagman because he wanted to solve the clue himself.
'"Well thanks," said Harry, "but I think I'm nearly there with the egg... couple more days should crack it."' This example is from page 447 to 448.
The egg was the clue, and the contents inside was supposed to help the champions figure out the next task.
Ron Weasley was one of Harry Potter's best friends as I said before, and he might also be brave, because he was also in Gryffindor, but I doubt it because he was scared of a lot of things, and usually didn't stand up for many things as much as Harry. Even though he might be kind, he very disliked (or even hated) being poor, since his family wasn't so rich (or as rich as other wizarding families), and often got teased by the rich wizards, especially Draco Malfoy, one of the main antagonists in the book. So because of that, I think that Ron liked to get attention and be known by other people, because he got teased. That led to serious jealousy in this book, when Harry got a lot of attention because he was famous and also when he got chosen as one of the champions. Ron and Harry had a hard time together, had a fight, and took a long time to make up later. They made up close to when the first task was going to happen. Ron is very funny (or humorous,) and joked a lot about many things. Here's one example:
'"Yeah, well, Percy wouldn't want to work for anyone with a sense of humor, would he?" said Ron, now starting on a chocolate eclair.
"Percy wouldn't recognize a joke if it danced naked in front of him wearing Dobby's tea cozy."' This example is from page 384.
Hermione Granger was also one of Harry's best friends (which I also mentioned above,), and was a very smart and intelligent girl, who worked really hard on a lot of things, like studying. She is not amusing or funny like Ron, and didn't participate in the book by being funny or anything, but participated by helping Harry a lot during hard times, like when Harry was practicing for his tasks. By this, you can know that he was a very helpful friend, and she was successful in being helpful a lot of times, because she knew a lot of information about a lot of things having something to do with magic. Here is one example showing her help Harry with her information (or her brain):
'"That's better, Harry, that's loads better," Hermione said, looking pleased.' She was helping Harry practice how to do a proper Summoning Charm, which was a spell (or a charm) which summoned objects and brought it to he or she who performed the spell.
'"Accio Dictionary!" The heavy book soared out of Hermione's hand, flew across the room, and Harry caught it.' This example is from page 346 to 347.
So these three characters were the main characters, or the protagonists, and their traits.
