This story takes place in the city of Troy during the ten year war between the Trojans and the Greeks. The war started because the prince of Troy, Paris, kidnapped the beautiful Helen to live in his kingdom. Most of the story takes place inside the city. The city is beautiful with statues of the gods on all the streets for good luck. there is one garden that belongs to the queen of Troy that is surrounded in beautiful flowers such as roses, lily's and dragonfly flower. Here is a quote from the book itself to prove the information, "Troy was silent that night, no people admiring the garden flowers, no one praying to the gods for safety, just young Xanthe in the blood room tending to the wounded soldiers and thinking, when will this horrible war end?" Geras, Page 12.
