The main problem in this story is that Sam, the main character, is trying to find out what family he really belongs to. Sam found a newspaper clipping, that made him wonder if he really belongs to the family he's in. In Sam's school there is a new girl, Caroline. They quickly become friends, and together they investigate the problem. Since Sam can't read, he needs Caroline's help. The more they find out, the more they think that Sam belongs somewhere else.
