The lord of the rings series has won multiple awards but first, let me give their names and their meanings. In 1957, it was awarded the International Fantasy Award. It was an annual literary award for the best science fiction or fantasy book. I started in the year 1951 and went up to 1957.
Then the series won Big Read in 2003 survey conducted by the BBC, the Lord of the Rings was found to be the nation's best loved book. The Big Read was a survey on books carried out by the BBC in the United Kingdom in 2003, where over three quarters of a million votes were received from the British public to find the nation's novel of all time. Then in 2004, it was the same thing but without a survey and in Australia. Of course, the series has won a lot more awards but these are the most important.
