David

David is Autistic (Autism is a disease where the person takes longer to learn simple things but they are experts on something or someone). He is 8 years old. I always imagine him as a cute boy that is very very very very very annoying.

Catherine

Catherine is Davids brother and she loves art. At the place where David has physical therapy she meets Jason who is not able to talk or walk. She befriends Jason an they become an odd kind of friends.

Kristi
Kristi is Catherine's friend. At first Catherine was imagining her as a friend that you can do all sorts of secret stuff with (like in books) but she turned out to be a different kind of friend but just as special because she is a friend. 

Jason

Jason isn't able to talk and walk so to communicate he has a communication full of words. He is sometimes not wanting to have his disease and he wants become a normal person, but what is normal? Catherine and Jason learn that there is no kind of normal, there is one kind of normal for every person that would mean there are 7,500,000,000 different kinds of normal.

The book was published in 2006 and the author is Cynthia lord. The amount of pages is 224 pages. The title of the book is Rules.
