Aragorn is the hero for now on. He has just fought a huge army of uruk-haim, which are a sort of kind of orcs, but anyway, he fought them and he has shown bravery throughout the book. On page 145, to prove his bravery, he showed himself to the whole army. He said that he would like to see the dawn, and he tricked and they all looked to the dawn and people a couple thousand of warriors demolished their army. Aragorn, as they say in the book, is a very handsome guy and he a lot of girls who like him.
Gandalf is the reason they won that battle. He was the leader of the army that demolished the orcs army. He also somehow turned the king of the army from an old man to a young courageous. Gandalf disappears a lot and turns up at the right place and the right time. I'm guessing he does that because he is a sorcerer and is also the wisest among all sorcerers and people.
