Sir Terry Pratchett
404 pages
The amazing author behind the book Nation and hundreds of other bestsellers is Sir Terry Pratchett. His real name is Terence David John Pratchett according to one website. He was born in 1948, April 28th in Buckinghamshire. His first work was published in Science Fantasy when he was 13. He married Lyn Purves in 1968.His first book was the Carpet People which I liked very much. It was published in 1971.
He had a daughter called Rhianna. Lots of his books were dedicated to her.
Now he is a bestselling well known author. He was even knighted by the queen in 2009. But sadly 5 or 4 years before that he suffered from a minor stroke. Thought the right side of his brain was damaged, it did not seem to affect his writing. In 2011, nearly 2012 he announced that he was suffering from an early onset of Alzheimer's. That has affected his writing. He now is not able to even write dedications when signing books. But he is still living and has the best brain surgeons working on him. while he has had Alzheimers, he has started two programs on the BBC about the disease and has donated US$1,000,000 to the Alzheimetrs Research trust. He has done much more though.
