Main Problem in Island of the Blue Dolphins

In Island of the Blue Dolphins there are many problems that happened so far. By so far I mean 60 pages that I have read out of 200 pages. Since my task is to inform you about the main problem I will just talk about that. This whole book is based on a real story and so is the main problem. In this book mostly everything happens because of the main problem.

It all started when the boat of Kimiki came to Ghalasat(island). They offered them to come with them to a better place. It was all going good and everyone was packing to go. That all changed when Karana realized that her brother Ramo wasn't on the ship and the ship started to move. It was impossible for Ramo to get onboard the ship and when Karana heard that she instantly jumped of the ship and rushed to her brother. That crucial event caused a lot of things. Days passed and no one came to the island to save them. But, there was still some hope. Not only that, they were not the only ones on the island. A wild pack of dogs was still there and they were truly an obstacle. Maybe even a bigger obstacle than Karana and Ramo thought. One morning Ramo went to take a canoe to help them fish in the ocean. Karen realised that, when she woke up alone in a hut. She waited for him to come back and hours passed. Finally, she decided to look for him. She saw trails and heard dogs barking. The barking was getting louder as she continued to walk in that directions. At last she saw the wild dogs pack and someone in the middle. It was Ramo! She came closer and immediately realised that he was dead! At that moment she made a promise that she will kill all the dogs and revenge his brother. Days passed, and then months of her loneliness. She made it through the winter and spring and there was no sign of any ship.

If you don't think this is a huge problem then try to think being alone on an island for a year with predators.
